Suffering seems to belong to man’s transcendence: it is one of those points in which man in a certain sense is destined to go beyond himself, and he is called to this in a mysterious way... (Salvifici Doloris, 2).
A couple of years back God took us through tremendous suffering. I did not ask for this suffering. I did not ask to watch my child go through suffering. But God's permissive will allowed it. And He took us on a journey...
Then He did what He often does in the formula for my life, He taught me how to endure, He taught me how to cling to Him, and He taught me how to walk my own Gospel of Suffering united with His Son. Then, He asked that I teach it.
Through this suffering, there were revealed principles of suffering and practical steps on how to suffer well. My suffering was transformed in the process, and I have never been the same...
I developed a healing workshop for individuals experiencing tremendous suffering, and I have heard their stories, and we have healed some wounds. During the Covid pandemic, the world came to a halt and through providence, I was inspired to write out the contents of the workshop into a book form.
This is a book about witness and testimony and healing and God, all while suffering.
My name is Dr. Sue Ellen Nolan, MTS, EdD. This project is meant to go out into the world and transform suffering for all those who come in contact with the message.
