THE STORY-

This twenty-four page full color comic tells a tale of betrayal, alchemy from a forgotten age, interdimensional portals and giant spiders!  

Set deep in the mists of time that blur history and legend, this is the origin story for The Undying- A wandering warrior on a quest to hunt creatures of folklore and myth in the hopes of keeping them from harming humanity.  Or at the very least to avenge any humans they have already taken from the world.  

What does Undying mean you might ask?  Well, it's a form of immortality where the warrior can, and does, actually die.  He comes back to life in an excruciating way where he feels all the pain and anguish of his death, but in reverse.  His body rapidly heals, but he feels every wound a second time.  

The book is the start of his ages-long adventure. It tackles how he became The Undying, his link to otherworldly creatures, and sets up the motivation behind his neverend quest. 

WHY I LOVE TO MAKE COMICS-

For as long as I can remember, I've been a storyteller and an artist in one form or another.  When I finally realized that I wanted to combine those two passions into making comics, The Undying was the idea that just wouldn't leave me alone.  The Undying Chronicle expanded from an eight page anthology piece into a full seventy-two page graphic novel- The Undying Chronicle: Eyes of Red and Purple.  (Which is available on this campaign)  After finishing the graphic novel, I had a flood of ideas for different stories I wanted to tell about this character and his adventures.  The Undying Chronicle: The First Death started in my mind as a simple origin story, but quickly ballooned into the cornerstone of a whole prequel arc.  And that's why I love making comics so much!  Every new issue inspires me to make even more.  And that's where you come in as a supporter.  Without people like you, The Undying can only live inside my head!

Your help, either by sharing this campaign or by backing it, is how I can get these books made, printed, and into the hands of people so they can have as much fun reading them as I've had making them.  Without the amazing people that supported The Undying Chronicle: Eyes of Red and Purple, this book wouldn't exist in its current form.  I give my all on every project, and knowing there are people out there that want these stories give me even more motivation as I create them.  So backing not only lets me print this book, but helps get more stories made in the future.  But what do YOU get backing this book?

WHAT YOU GET WHEN BACKING-

This campaign has several perks, which are listed below.  But all backers get a copy of The Undying Chronicle: The First Death in a physical or digital format.  Due to the costs of international shipping, I will only be able to do physical copies of the book within the US.  That is why I make sure to have a digital option available on my campaigns for international backers, as well as for those on a budget, so everyone has a chance to get the book.

There are also stretch goals that will be unlocked at $500, $750, $900 and $1,250.  Each will be announced when the goal is reached, but they will include things like small prints, postcards and more. I don't want digital backers to miss out, so the stretch goal images will be added to the PDFs so they can enjoy the extras too! 

I'm also delighted to say that having passed 20 prelaunch sign ups, the first stretch goal has already been unlocked!  For those that like tabletop roleplaying games, as well as those who love more lore behind the monsters in these books, there are now a set of stat sheets that will be part of the campaign!  They're still in development, but here's one of the three so you know what you'll be getting.

WHAT ARE THE PAINTING PERKS?

I also love doing acrylic landscape paintings.  On my last campaign, I offered a perk with one of them, and it was grabbed within the first few hours after launch.  I received several messages that people were disappointed I didn't offer more, so I've added several to this campaign in both 5x7 inch and 8x10 inch options.  Each painting is unique, and will be done in one of three styles depending on what the backer wants.  Think of them like a commissioned sketch- back a size, tell me what style you like, if you want vertical or horizontal orientation, and when you open your package you'll get a one of a kind painting! 

The first option is cherry blossom landscapes.  Here is an example of that style.

The second option is cherry blossom castle at night.  

The final option is The Undying's homestead.
