Right I didn't want to bore you all with the details of who I am - but obviously I am heading up the producer team on this wonderfully bloody project! Details on me and my stuff further down. But in the meantime, let me re-clarify what the video should have told you:

1. We're making a feature film, out of a a series of short films (which is our main goal for coming here... we need you guys to get us some awesome horror shorts). The theme of the Anthology is the various states within the USA. Each story should look and feel like the state they are coming from. 

What inspired us was a recent article about the wonderful diverse film production landscape of the USA that was summarized in this very cool map of famous horror movies around the states. 

Now how cool would be be if we filled a similar map with a whole load of Horror short films to make one epic masterpiece of Horror Anthology.

Why are you doing this?

Ahhh... because we love horror and who wouldn't ... I mean if you're not a fan of the genre please stop reading.

So there's just two ways to get involved: 

• Pre-order the DVD or the Producer perk and get involved that way
• Make your own US Horror short and get in touch with us to be included in this awesome project.

Now we're not really here for the money - we're here for the Horror! SO I am hoping that most of the interest here is actually from Directors/Writers/Producers...hell even actors! who want to make a short film to be included here. 

I get it... How does it work

So as mentioned in the video we need 4 things to qualify you to be part of the production with your short film: 

1. LOCATION! – SO IF IT’S NEW YORK CITY, WE NEED TO KNOW THAT…LET’S FEEL THE PRESENCE OF THE STATE YOU’RE IN.
2. INCLUDE IN YOUR HORROR A STATE SYMBOL… NOW THIS CAN BE A THE STATE FISH, THE STATE FLOWER, STATE FLAG, STATE SONG… ANYTHING THAT GEO-LOCKS YOUR STORY TO YOUR STATE. THERE’S QUITE AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF OPTIONS SEE AT:

3. SOMETHING THAT ISN’T ABOUT THE LOCKDOWN… THAT’S REAL LIFE HORROR… NO ONE WANTS THAT.
4. BE ABOUT 5 MINUTES...WE'LL TAKE ANYTHING FROM 3-7 MINUTES - BUT 5 IS A GOOD NUMBER. 

No we're aware that there may be more then one film maker in New York city for example... so please touch base soon to reserve your spot on the production. You will have 30 days to shoot / edit / score your segment and deliver to us from the end of the campaign, obviously you can get going before that. 

Trilogy Collection

As you may have gathered - if we hit our target of 50 states with 50 segments, running at 5 mins each we'd have a 4 hour movie (and then you gotta add the credits and linking segments).... So we're planning a Part 1, 2 and 3. Across 3 DVD's, so not only would you be part of a cool anthology ... but a cool Anthology Trilogy. But good things come in 3's ... no wait that's bad things... what we are trying to say is 3 is a good number. for films.

So which film would my short be on? Well that will be decided in the post production phase of the production. But as we're releasing three films, we will have three entries on the IMDB and effectively each film will be 'stand alone'. 

Technicals 

In order to ensure a good workflow and so that everything 'feels the same. The following will be the universal technical specifications for shooting ALL segments.

  Audio format:

·       Ch 1  =  Left Front @ +20

·       Ch 2 = Right Front @ +20

·       Ch 3 = Center @ +20

·       Ch 4 = LFE @ +20

·       Ch 5 = Left Surround @ +20

·       Ch 6 = Right Surround @ +20

·       Ch 7 & 8 = Stereo English Lt/Rt @ +14db

·       Ch 9 & 10 = Stereo M&E Lt/Rt @ +14db (must be fully filled mix)

Delivery method – We prefer to work with Dropbox or G Drive Or Wetransfer links if possible to keep the process clean and efficient.  Once your film has been completed, send an e mail and you will receive the e mail for the project Editor, Conner, who manage the workflow of the technical delivery.

We will also at that time need your credits and a signed non-exclusive access agreement to be able to show your work within the feature film format combined with the other films. Without this we cannot include your work. We will also require your credits in an Excel format. PLEASE DO NOT ADD YOUR CREDITS (OPENING OR CLOSING) TO THE SEGMENT YOU SUBMIT - WE WILL BE DOING THAT ALL AT THE MAIN END CREDITS.

Music clearance will also be required for legal submission. (please only use music you have the rights for).

Other important style notes: 

1. Must be in colour (no black and white). 

2. No subtitles or burnt in text. 

3. Must be in English (sorry but we have to keep consistency across the whole movie).

Some of you may be asking "why would I do this?" like "what's in it for me Simon?" - well this is a labour of love for me and my team - it's about the horror - and I am hoping that we're all making something bigger the sum of it's parts. I feel like a win for one of us, is a win for all of us. Any money we make from this campaign is simply going to be re-invested in pushing the film to greater number of platforms or pushing the films to film festivals on filmfreeway.com and using social media boasting through Facebook and Instagram - the goal is going to be to get this seen as far and wide as possible and for us all to be very proud to have a movie like this on our resume. Risks & Challenges

The big risk here is that we don't get enough of the right films in the right areas... but we have a plan... if we fall short in some areas we will actually use our own director connections to shoot something in areas where we're feeling a little light on horror interest, because we really do want to make sure we can plug gaps. We'll be reaching out far and wide to the community (which has always been a very supportive one) to make sure we get the best of the best.
