Hi! This is Trevor and Ian, the writer/director team behind The Vicious. You’re probably thinking “Who the hell are these guys?” and “Why are they doing this?” Well, to put it simply, we LOVE horror movies! We love watching them, discussing them, but most importantly, MAKING THEM.
Filmmaking has always been our dream, so after meeting in college, we joined forces to pursue it. We knew it'd be a challenge, but there was nothing we wanted more. We started writing, directing, and producing our ideas. Four years later, we’ve self-funded four original horror shorts that have played film festivals across the nation. Foxwood, our latest project, is currently a selection at eight film festivals including Nashville, Shriekfest, Portland Horror, and more. In addition, it’s officially Oscar® Qualified. You can check out the official trailer here:
As the excitement of Foxwood continues, we now turn to The Vicious, our biggest and boldest film yet. We are so thrilled to tackle it, so join us on the journey and embrace your inner horror freak!
Cheers! - Trevor and Ian

At its core, The Vicious is a cautionary tale. The Smiths are a middle class family of four on their way to the lake for a midsummer getaway. After a wrong turn off the highway, they stumble upon a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. What comes next can only be described as a nightmare.

While taking cues from some of our favorite horror films, The Vicious aims for new ground. There’s a peculiar style to its deranged contents: something strange and artful, yet lurid and gruesome. For a glance into its world, check the concept art below from different stages of story development.

To bring the The Vicious to life, the team needs to raise $19,950. As mentioned in the video, on top of regular costs of cast, crew, location, and camera, the film calls for a high level of stylistic elements. The team wants to make The Vicious right, and with something as specialized as horror, proper resources make all the difference. Especially in a location as rural as a farm. Check the budget breakdown below to see how funds raised will be utilized.
