About this Campaign

Thank you for checking out this IndieGogo campaign to help us make the feature film, “The Violent.” 

Set in the mid 90s amongst a tight-knit group of punks and skins, “The Violent" follows a teenager in his final year of high school as he is drawn down a path of crime, and must ultimately reconcile his own violent nature, or be consumed by it. 

“The Violent” is an independent film, financed by private investors, and the awesome public at large who want to see this movie get made. That’s you!

This campaign’s initial goal of $20,000 allows us to begin certain highly important aspects of preproduction immediately. This covers a wide range of things from legal and business expenses, to the casting process, all the way up to beginning production on some of the crazy props and wardrobe that will be onscreen in the film.

About the Filmmakers

We’ve got a great crew onboard to make this film. As this campaign moves forward, we’ll be introducing more of our team. But for now, we’ll start with the guys who you see in our campaign video. 

Kelly Jones: Director / Producer 

A passionate storyteller, Kelly Jones has been framing shots for over twenty-five years. Kelly is deeply involved with all levels of production. He was a producer and cinematographer for the feature films  “Hot Guys With Guns,” and “Mobbed Up.” He was also the director of photography for the recently released biopic documentary “Iceberg Slim; Portrait of A Pimp," and co-director for the Foo Fighters music video “White Limo,” a comedic homage to the punk rock videos of the early eighties.

Clint Carney: Writer / Producer 

Apart from his writing and film career, Clint is perhaps better known as the singer and songwriter for the band SYSTEM SYN, and  as a member of the bands God Module and Imperative Reaction. Clint is also a visual artist, whose works appear on-screen in numerous major motion pictures as well as in art galleries and private collections worldwide. 

Davey Havok: Actor / Co-producer

Davey is the singer for the bands AFI, Blaqk Audio, and XTRMST. He has recently appeared alongside an all-star cast in the film “Knife Fight,” and on Broadway in the musical “Green Day’s American Idiot.” Davey is also a talented novelist, whose book “Pop Kids” is making waves in the literary world. 

Where the money is going:

All of the money raised from this campaign will go toward every aspect needed to make this a great film. This includes crew, talent, locations, equipment, permits, etc. With your help, this film will be providing jobs to many people!
