"Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me"- Matthew 25:40.

The Wanted Children Foundation (TWCF) is an NGO that operates on the ground in Nigeria, West Africa. Its primary project has been the establishment of a Children’s Home and nursery/primary Alternative School which both provide the necessary care and programs for long-term holistic care of its accepted Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC).

The Wanted Children Foundation has been in Nigeria running various programs for the last ten years; with OVC as its primary target, it still however engages in various other community support and education workshops/training under the concepts/topics of basic health care, mental health, peace building, mentoring, and conflict resolution.

The current Children’s Home has 18 children under its care, from age 2yrs -17yrs old, with the three oldest teenage children living outside the home with their widowed mother. The other 15 children, below the age of 11yrs, are without immediate family and in the sole custody of TWCF.

These 15 children have come into our permanent care over the span of three years, and we have seen drastic change in both their physical and emotional lives.

From traumatic histories such as being locked in a cage for the former years of their life, to daily physical/or sexual abuse, being trafficked or abandoned, these children’s resiliency has both surprised and amazed us all.

It is with continued prayers and support that we are able to give these children the daily care, love, devotion, teaching, training, and patience that they need to bond and learn that positive futures are possible and life can be good and kind to them.

We have been blessed to create a home for these children, a space that they know and recognize as safe and secure.  It is a home that they love despite the challenges of growing and working through issues. We have been blessed to have several individuals work as staff with these children, who provide love, direction, support and proper modeling and teaching of how true families are meant to be. These children who have had little hope of surviving given their prior circumstances, and who in their own minds saw no point to life, now dream of being teachers, bankers, restaurant owners and pilots! Of having their own families and farms and helping others.

At this point in time it costs approximately $7,400 per month to run our current Children’s Home and Homestead Alternative Academy. That is inclusive of each child’s needs such as medical, educational, clothes, shoes, etc.; house running cost such as food, water, fuel, cleaning supplies, laundry, etc.; staff salaries, office costs and compound maintenance. This is the bare minimum we need to get by each month.

We hope that our project will touch your hearts and you will partner with us by supporting our children. Everyone who gives is an intricate part of these children’s lives as it truly takes a village to raise a child. Not only is that a cultural concept here in Nigeria and how we, TWCF, have modeled our programs, but by your involvement from the various parts of the world, you also become part of the greater village, by sharing the responsibility of raising and shaping these children’s lives. We thank you.
