The Whispers is a short horror film being produced by Saddleback College students. The film follows David Foster after he was hired to find a missing woman who he suspects doesn’t exist. His investigation takes him to the dark underbelly of Los Angeles. While being burdened with survivor's guilt from his time serving in the war in Afghanistan, he hopes for life he can share with someone or a good death to share with his friends.
The intention of this film is to showcase the depths and complexities of depression, and the power the slim chance of hope can give someone. Along with the themes, this film is inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft explores the horror of things beyond our own control.
This is the first major short film that was written and directed by Nicholas Stansell. The intent of this film is to start a series of short works to move up to bigger and more detailed productions.
