What is funding for?

The funding is going towards the Alpha build of the game which will act as the foundation of all future work. This will include a number of new features or redesigns. The alpha will contain 5 of the 15 base dragons, this will include a redesign of our current Icy Crown model.

It will also contain nesting mechanic.



We will be adding in human buildings mechanics which will start/expand on the creation of all survival elements like resource gathering, armour crafting, weapon crafting and much more-!



Expanding the map, monuments will be added for exploration of both human- and dragon players alike.

Populating the world, we plan on adding a number of new creatures to the world-!

About the team and those involved.

The team consists of concept artists, programmers, modellers, animators, level designers and much more from all over the globe. All of us who have come together to form our little team. Purple Hive Studios LTD was founded in the UK by the 3 owners Harrison, Lise and Vilma with each having their own reasons to create this game, but the company was founded for one specific reason: to make fun games.

We don't like they way the game industry has been going over the last few years with many AAA, AA and indie (I suppose AAAA as well now haha) wanting to make money and only money, not wanting to make games for gamers instead just for their own egos, agendas or greed. So we thought "fuck it" lets do it ourselves and be the change that people have wanted and Purple Hive Studios was born.

We, however, are not alone in creating The Wings of Dawn, as we are supported by two other companies: OmniSound and Indie.io-!

OmniSound will be our help on all music, sounddesign and audio-implementation through MetaSound. They have experience both small and large, having previously worked on titles like Call of Duty & Battlefield, but also brands like Samsung & BMW, and a plethora of cool interactive projects. Through OmniSound the owners (Daan and Thijs) have now joined forces to do what they love most; work on beautiful indie games such as Wings of Dawn.

Indie.io is our publisher and while they do not fund us in any way, they will be handling the steam sales, localisation and advertising for us. As a disclaimer: they do not have any access to the development of our game and cannot ask us to add or take away anything that we add as we both like to put it. Purple Hive Studios develops and Indie.io advertises.

Risks and challenges

As with everything there will always be risks and challenges that could lead to delays. However, we will do our best to ensure that progress goes as smooth as possible and we want to make sure that people know we do have several plans in case things don't go the way that they were initially planned. Such as if we don't earn enough money in this funding period, or if one of the developers has to leave or gets ill. We are committed to be open with you the community as we have done for the last few years in our weekly dev updates on Discord. We want to be transparent with our community and you, our backers, and provide clear communication that is open both ways. If there are any concerns we want to hear about them.
