Time was running out for 100 World War II vets in San Diego, and then Breitling fans did something amazing… now it’s our turn. Honor Flight is a national non-profit that flies World War II veterans free of charge to see their Memorial in Washington, DC as a thank you for their service to our country. 1,000 WWII vets pass away each day and there is no time to wait to get involved in sending them on one last mission. With your help, this holiday season we can get 50 World War II vets off the waiting list and out to Washington DC.

WWII vets celebrating at their memorial!

We started this campaign because we were so inspired after seeing what Breitling did for these WWII vets in the video that we decided it’s time for us to step up too. Thousands of WWII veterans are stuck on waiting lists, hoping they’ll have an opportunity to go on an Honor Flight before it’s too late. Together, we can raise enough funds to fly 50 WWII veterans from Dallas to DC to see their Memorial in 2014. From as little as buying a lunch ($10) to purchasing a WWII vet’s airfare ($500), donating whatever you can will go towards honoring these heroes and making their Honor Flight possible.

Where does my money go?
There are 170 WWII veterans stuck on a waiting list in Dallas, TX. Many of these heroes have already waited years. While this amazing program is provided at no cost to the veteran, Honor Flight Dallas needs to raise $1,000 per veteran to make their Honor Flight trip possible.

Why a hat and t-shirt?
The hat and t-shirt are very important parts of the Honor Flight experience. Together, this “uniform” builds a sense of comradery among the veterans and allows them to be easily recognized and thanked by everyone they meet on their trip. The shirt and jacket is such a sentimental piece of their journey, that many WWII veterans request to be buried in their Honor Flight shirt.

Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes! Honor Flight DFW is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is verified by Indiegogo.

Will I receive any perks?
Each perk level is designed to fund a specific component of the WWII vet’s Honor Flight trip. All contributions will go directly to flying more veterans. Campaign contributors will receive updates about the veterans’ trip.

If you reach your goal, when will the vets fly?
The WWII vets will be able to take their Honor Flight trip in the Spring of 2014. If we reach our goal, we will send all campaign contributors information about the date of the flight and photos from their trip.

What is the plan if you raise more funds than the target goal of $50,000?
There are 170 WWII vets on Honor Flight DFW’s waiting list. $50,000 will cover the cost of flying 50 veterans on an overnight trip to see their Memorial in Washington, DC. Any additional money raised between $50,000 and $170,000 will go to support funding more vets on their waiting list.

What is the average cost the fly a WWII vet on an Honor Flight?
$1,000 sponsors the entire cost for one WWII veteran to go on a two-day Dallas Honor Flight Trip to see their Memorial in DC, paying for their airplane ticket, all meals, "WWII vet" cap, "Honor Flight" t-shirts and jacket, and the individual cost for their lodging and ground transportation.

Where can I buy the Breitling limited edition Honor Flight timepiece featured in the video?

A limited supply of Honor Flight timepieces are still available. All proceeds go to flying more vets. To purchase this special timepiece, please call 877-273-4854.
