What is Thousand Yesterdays?
Thousand Yesterdays is a short film set in 1982, where Charlie Rainbird waits for his seventeen year-old self to come forward in time from the frontline of the WW1 trenches.
Charlie has a limited amount of time to tell his younger self how to survive the trenches, but he must also convince him that the best thing he can do with his life is love Sylvia, a woman he's doomed to outlive.
If you had the opportunity to meet your younger self what would you say?
This is the opportunity Charlie is waiting for one snowy morning in 1982. What he has to say comes purely from the heart - This is the best thing you will ever do. However, to make this happen, you need to listen to what I have to say, just as I was told before you. Just like I am telling you now. This is how you will survive the war. Live a lifetime with the love of your life. To make this happen, ‘listen with your ears and not your arsehole’.
The tale isn’t about creating change; rather it’s a tale of love and what one man goes through to keep it alive through space and time.
We are looking for further investment in order to cover the remaining production costs and to give the film the high level of craft we believe it requires and deserves.
Full script available on request for those looking to make significant investment.

How you can be part of this exciting short film
The wheels on this project are now fully in motion. We’ve put in all the money we can and have already received help from a few executive producers but vitally, we hope to raise the outstanding balance via crowd-funding.
Filming presents numerous challenges, not least scenes set in a WWI German trench which the team and I have been digging with Andy Robertshaw (the mind behind the trenches in Steven Spielberg's Warhorse). The Special Effects needed to convey time travel and conflict will be expensive, together with artificial snow, hiring equipment, cast and crew expenses etc making crowd-funding the most rewarding and effective option.
I’ve put together a series of incentives for those that make a crowd-funding donations of various denominations but, hopefully the main incentive will be to be involved in a distinctive British short film.
