WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR
As you can see from my trailer, I have taken the first steps and have made an initial investment out of my own pockets to film hours of interviews of the author of Thud Pilot, Victor Vizcarra. I have also acquired research material and footage to create the initial post-production draft of our Thud Pilot documentary project. It was during production I realized this story had multiple layers that required research. I decided to expand the documentary with additional interviews of this unique breed of men who flew the F-105. I wanted to obtain more personal accounts of their exploits and how they survived. I also want to hear from the dedicated patriots who maintained this incredible aircraft and kept the Thuds in the air. It was during the filming and research that another fascinating layer emerged deserving to be told – interviews from the self-sacrificing guardians who rescued downed Thud pilots deep behind enemy lines.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
I need your support to finish and take my initial project to the next level by interviewing more of these incredible men. I simply lack the funds required to expand this feature-length documentary. By donating to this project, you are ensuring that a piece of history is properly told and the sacrifices of these phenomenal veterans are never forgotten. It is my plan to accomplish all principal photography this summer so a completed full documentary will be ready to submit to the GI Film Festival in 2018. I also intend to distribute this film in as many platforms available including online, DVD, Blu-Ray and hopefully broadcast television.
Please, support my film by donating above and share this project with your friends, family and anyone you know who supports our Vietnam Veterans. It is my focus to preserve this project as a 100% independent film. This will prevent manipulation and control by Hollywood money handlers intent on portraying their inaccurate version of history. Vietnam was misreported then and it is misremembered now. These unique breed of men served, fought and died and received neither the country's glory nor their compassion. I’m appealing to you to assist me in revealing the truth of their story in order to prevent this travesty from ever happening again to our military fighting men.
In order for this documentary to be financed, I am counting on everyone to spread the word of my project across social media platforms so I can make this film become a reality. The phrase “no bucks, no Buck Rogers,” made popular by the 1983 film The Right Stuff, never rang truer. With your help, this can go viral, enabling me to expand this documentary and truly tell their story. Men of valor should never become just a faded memory; we owe it them to preserve history so they will always be remembered.
