Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2024! Whether that support was streaming songs, coming to shows, booking us, buying merchandise, or sharing our music with others, thank you so much for being a contributor to our band's future. Tide-Eye is everything to us, and your support means the world. Our main goal in 2024 was to no longer engage with the pay-to-play scene in LA and engage more authentically with independent bookings and bands and WE DID THAT while being more booked than ever and meeting other large milestones (festival appearances, regional shows, large DIY projects, etc) because YOU showed up for us. We hope that you will show up for us in 2025 too so we can continue to grow and succeed. In 2025, we are going to grow and expand, transitioning from a local band to a continuously productive, nationally touring act.
We have three concrete, major goals for 2025:
1. Print Zodiac on vinyl
2. Go on [at least one] West Coast tour
3. Continue upgrading our recording and live production resources
These are not small goals for an independent band and all require a great deal of capital we simply do not have and cannot generate alone (no parents with blue names in this band!). In particular, what we are raising funds for in this campaign is our April Zodiac tour with stops from San Diego to Seattle and the printing of Zodiac on Vinyl to provide to backers of this campaign as well as sell later during shows. Backing this campaign at $40 or more is you preordering the album on vinyl!!! You aren't just throwing money at us, every tier comes with tangible products and access to our music.
We have set our fundraising goal at $10,000. Receiving this amount of money would allow us to take the sorts of steps we need to take to build serious momentum around Tide-Eye to sustain us for years to come. Every dollar Tide-Eye has ever made from playing shows and selling merchandise has been reinvested back into funding the band, growing our scene in LA, and providing more music, content, and performances for our audience. We do it all ourselves.
Here is the breakdown of how we will use these funds:
$3500 - Printing 250 copies of the Zodiac 2LP. We will print more in the event of robust backing of this campaign. Again, backing at $40+ is a preorder of the vinyl, the more people backing at that level, the more we will print!
$4000 - Cost of April tour, including transportation, lodging, food, rentals, etc.
$1500 - Investments into recording equipment for our home studio and live performances as well as lighting for our live performances.
$1000 - Merchandise printing and finishing
Every donation you put into this campaign also gets you an entry into our raffle for a turntable on which to play your vinyl, which you can enter for on our instagram @_tide_eye. Head to instagram to see details. You will get an additional entry for every $25 given.
$10,000 is lofty, but this is what we will be spending in the first half of this year to commit to our growth no matter what. Anything not raised, we are prepared take on as debt as a band because taking this leap of faith is extremely important to us. P.S. We are feeling the weight of the devastation here in Los Angeles personally and in how it has affected others in the city we love. We planned this fundraiser long before the disaster occurred and don't want to detract from donations for rebuilding and mutual aid efforts. Please consider doubling or splitting your contribution to those impacted by the fires.
