TIDELANDS - A Film about Death with Dignity.
Synopsis
TIDELANDS tells the story of lifelong friends - Conor and Lelia. Conor has been away for a year - off on his own "adventure", as he says. He looks a million dollars - and he has a secret to share with Lelia.
The Production
TIDELANDS is not a story about pain, suffering, and loss. Instead, TIDELANDS is a
celebration – of love, of life, and of the ties that bind.
The decisions people face in regards to end of life choices are deeply personal; and yet, we seem so afraid to discuss what is the most important - and universal - decision that we will make in our entire lives. Life is a terminal condition, and TIDELANDS is a conversation worth having.
The Costs
Below, you can see a partial list of what this campaign will be funding. Filmmaking is expensive - even for short films like this. Every single dollar is important to us, so we may achieve the quality of storytelling that is absolutely essential to create a film like TIDELANDS. Here's a broad view of what your money will be paying for:

Pre-production, including printing of sides and scripts, location for a table read, SAG/AFTRA rehearsal costs, camera rehearsals, location scouting, BTS videos, and more.

Production, including fees for location, camera, sound, and crew, as well as production meals, gas stipends for volunteer crews, location costs, permits and insurance, storage for the daily files, data cards, wardrobe, props, production design, studio teacher costs, SAG/Aftra talent, and countless other things needed during the production process. Duct tape and tennis balls add up!
- And, of course, we have to figure in the percentages of fees paid to Indiegogo, PayPal, Visa/MC, perk fulfillments, as well as the private screening for donors, cast and crew.
As we update this page, we will provide a copy of our production budget and schedule, so you can see, dollar for dollar, where the money goes. As writer and director, I have waived my fees, in order to help make the production dollars go further.
Production challenges are many - but we've assembled a top notch team of experienced filmmakers, both behind and in front of the lens. You'll be able to be "in the know" about the day to day happenings with this film through blogs, BTS videos, and more!

A Personal Note from the Creator of TIDELANDS
My name is Anne Lower; I'm a filmmaker of such projects as EXIT PLAN, INTERGLOBAL TRADING FUND, and the web series THEY LIVE AMONG US, and others.
I first wrote TIDELANDS as a short play, about 15 years ago. After going though - and surviving cancer treatment, the play took on a personal significance to me, and so, I went back to the pages, using the short play as a springboard, and reshaped this story of best friends, faced with an important decision, and created the project that we are raising funds for today.
