The Inspiration
The idea for Time Stamp was first inspired by a real internet clip of a teenager claiming they were from the future. Why was this person time traveling to begin with? If you had the ability to travel through time, what moments would you go back and try to fix? The most important political elections? An embarrassing moment in front of your whole high school? ... Or possibly stop the tragic, unexpected, and ominous death of your parents. This is the decision our protagonist, Jackie Dixon, chooses to pursue throughout the film.

The Team
Co-Writer & Director: Cade Huseby
"Hi, my name's Cade and I'm currently studying film and tv production at USC's School of Cinematic Arts with a minor in comedy. I have 4+ years of professional filmmaking and a few festival wins and official selections in varying genres and I'm excited to apply those experiences to making Time Stamp. I’m currently assistant producer, researcher, and co-writer for YouTuber Anthony Padilla. I was originally inspired to create Time Stamp with Robert when I came across a YouTube video of a teenager claiming to be from the future and stuck in our present. Time travel stories are always fun, but I'm looking forward to focusing on the delicacy of decision making and the inflexibility of our past, rather than flying cars and self-lacing Nikes. Throughout the story, we'll see the year 2019 through a retrospective lens which I'm excited about taking on! I hope you'll consider giving us your money at this moment in time and joining this epic ride. Oh man, that last sentence rhymed didn't it?"
Co-Writer & Director: Robert Butler III
"I’m currently a senior at the USC School of Cinematic Arts majoring in Cinema and Media Studies. I’ve been building towards my aspiration in directing through working as an editor and a camera operator/DP for several years. Since 2016, I’ve worked for popular YouTube channels Schmoes Know/Collider Video as well as produced and directed many original shorts. Science fiction has always been my favorite genre in cinema, with movies like James Cameron’s Avatar (2009), Looper (2012), Blade Runner (1982), and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1979) inspiring me to pursue filmmaking full time. As a sci-fi nerd, the story of Time Stamp is impactful to me because it subverts many of the conventions of most time-travel movie. With a pristine focus on character and human emotion, this film has a lot to say about our interpretation of the past and how we are affected by it in the future."
