Summary
To Have and To Hold is a Bond University graduation short film being produced in the January 2016 semester. A 1930s drawing room comedy, To Have and To Hold requires a substantial budget to get it off the ground.
In the world of the landed gentry in the 1930s, life is decadent, carefree and mundane. All of this is changed for Lady Agatha, a wealthy countrywoman when she discovers her husband, Sir William, may be engaged in an affair…
Agatha’s best friend Piggy informs her that she saw William in town with a young lady named Jane Fitzroy. Stirred into action, Agatha is determined to win her husband back, and enlists the help of her loyal and cunning butler, Flogdell, to concoct a plan.
Flogdell’s plan revolves around a dirty love letter being sent to Jane, and convincing her that Sir William was the author. The dirty letter will hopefully disgust the young girl, put her off the older man, and bring William back to his wife.
But how far will Flogdell go with his letter? Can Agatha be certain her husband is having an affair? And most importantly, will the wealthy couple’s marriage be destroyed? Agatha will stop at nothing to keep her and her husband together.
