Our mission
The first campaign was launched in 2014 and was a huge success - we raised enough money for two classes to go on the educational trip around Nepal. This time we want to raise enough money to send at least three more classes on the trip; Class 9 of 2017, 2018 & 2019.
Briefly about VHMaVi School
Victor Hugo Manjushree Vidyapith (VHMaVi) school is a not-for-profit situated 15km north of Kathmandu city centre. It has 252 students, most of whom come from underprivileged families who cannot afford to pay tuition fees.
Why 'Travel2Educate'? What can you do to help?
I, like so many others I have grown up with, have been fortunate enough to travel throughout my life. I began traveling as a young child, largely through school trips, and I have never really stopped. However, I only started to truly realise just how educational, inspiring, liberating, enriching and enlightening travelling is, when I started my 5 months volunteering at VHMaVi school in Kathmandu, Nepal in August 2014. During this time I was exposed first-hand to the harsh reality that so many children are denied this simple privilege that a lot of us take for granted.
We might not be able to eradicate world poverty, but together we can certainly give underprivileged children the opportunity to experience an educational trip of a lifetime.
The Travel2Educate trip takes the children to some of the most frequented regions in Nepal, rich with history, museums and culture, and never before seen by the children:
- Chitwan
- Pokhara
- Bandipur
Having the chance to be a tourist for the first time in their own country can inspire the children to work in the travel/tourism industry, for example, which has a wealth of opportunities, offering thousands of different roles.
What will your money pay for?
5 x days
Chitwan eco-resort hotel + national park activities + museum
Pokhara eco-resort hotel + activities + culture house
Bandipur - stop over
Transport (private bus)
Food & drink
How much does it cost?
£10 - 1 x student - travel fees
£30 - 1 x student - accommodation fees
£50 - 1 x student - full package
£350 - 7 x students (approx. half a class) - full package
£783 - 1 x class + 3 x volunteers/teachers - full package
Let's give these children an educational trip to remember - lets inspire, and bestow upon them the right to be educated through travel.
Thank you!
DONORS - Please send me a picture of you showing off your best tilaka so I can add you to the famous 'Wall of Enablers' - a tilaka is the red dot on the forehead usually made from red paste and is a Hindu tradition (see below for an example).

The 'Wall of Enablers' is a collage of wonderful people, such as yourselves, who have donated their money to the campaign since it was first launched in 2014.
