The Traveller Camp is made for the Grab ‘N Go experience. The three components fit comfortably in a traditional spacious packsack with attached straps for additional compression and decreased volume.

The brand came alive 30 years ago in the deep jungles of Ecuador. Matthias Saul, our founder, constructed his first hammock with the help of Huaorani Indian tribe guides—the hammock was heavy (about 7kg/15.4lb) and didn’t keep the rain or mosquitoes out.

This was all the inspiration Matthias’s outdoor spirit needed to create camping gear that was lightweight, multi-functional, and easy to set up. All Amazonas Ultra-Light outdoor equipment is designed keeping in mind this one mantra:

We chose Indiegogo because we wanted to take a different approach for our latest product launch. Usually we, as a manufacturer, provide retailers and wholesale companies, who then sell to the consumer. But this time we want to deliver the product to the people who will use it in the end and get their feedback and input. And what better way to engage with your community than having them be an active part of product development and its launch? Therefore globally launching Traveller Camp on Indiegogo and letting our community get their hands on the product first is a great way to say 'Thank You' to the people who have been avid supporters over the years.

The past few years have shown the world that risks and challenges can arise in an instant. However, not only have we been around for 30 years, but over the past years we have become even more agile helping us overcome arising challenges. Given our long history with partners and our experience in manufacturing, we are confident about our production and delivery plans for Traveller Camp. We have started mass production and have our experienced quality control team in place to make sure everything is perfect. We are partnering with fulfillment companies in Europe (Germany) and the US (Kansas) in order to try to keep customs cost as low as possible for our supporters.

The Amazonas GmbH is dedicated to the ecological sustainable and socially beneficial manufacture of our products. To ensure that those products are made in factories that comply with international standards and laws, our company does AQL inspections for all shipments at the respective factories during and after the completion of productions. During these inspections not only quality, but also working conditions are evaluated constantly. To prevent modern slavery and human rights abuse in our supply chain we monitor compliance of EU and local law in respective production countries via these inspections.

Amazonas is working together with different European waste disposal companies (such as Interseroh) implementing circular solutions for our packaging waste management. We have started the process of evaluating exact emissions of our products and our business as a whole.

During product development we conduct market research regarding EU/UK and international norms and laws. Evaluations and respective tests are conducted accordingly. To enhance the safety of our products we work together with international testing facilities. To fulfill risk assessment, technical approval and traceability, all our products are inspected before shipment and after reception at our warehouse. Each shipment has a production number allocated. This production number is attached directly to the product via different suitable permanently fixed methods (stamps, labels, etc.). According to EU law, all our products have our company name and contact details directly attached to the product to enable the customer to contact us directly. Supervision of quality problems and customer feedback is implemented in the company structure.

To ensure the quality of our products we have specialists responsible for technical issues and quality management. Their responsibilities include the conduction of inspections, risk assessment, communication with testing facilities for chemical and endurance testing, technical approval, conduction of quality and customer service and the monitoring of international laws and regulations. To guarantee animal welfare, we as a company do not buy or sell animal derived products.

In order to minimize import taxes and customs duties our plan is to serve our US supporters from our US warehouse and the rest of the world from our European hub. However, due to unforeseeable reasons cases might occur where US customers are served from our European warehouse. If a product is seized by customs or returned to its origin, we will NOT be responsible for the loss, product, or shipping refund. It is the buyer's responsibility to cover the shipping costs when the buyer wishes to have a second delivery attempt after the product is returned to Amazonas Ultra-Light.
