My name is Adam Misner, and I'm an author looking to put a wholesome love story out into the world. Often I run into stories with love triangles that sap my enthusiasm for the couple, cheating or other drama that bums me out, and melancholic endings from writers afraid their story wont be seen as deep if they write a happy ending. I wanted to rebel against that trend and make something happy. If I've done my job right, my story should linger in the back of your mind and put a smile on your face, from time to time, when you remember a moment from it.
The story begins with Simon, a skinny, blonde, twenty something who's reeling from a rough breakup. To cope, he gets himself to Disney World and mindlessly rides a roller coaster there, again and again, doing his best to keep himself from thinking. Through the crowd he's noticed by Morrigan, a ride attendant. She's a goth chick born a thousand miles away, with very little in common with him, but she can recognize a kindred spirit.
What's the money for?
The book's already written, and in its final stages of editing. Barring a bolt from Zeus, I will publish this book, hence the flexible funding. The money is meant to cover the cost of art and printing. If the goal isn't met I'll still have the books printed out of pocket.
Don't take this to mean your contribution isn't valuable, however. What the funding goal doesn't represent is the value of the many many hours spent over two years to write this book. I spent those hours because I love to write, and I'll spend many more for the same reason, but your financial support will help me to contribute more time to this fulfilling work and inspire me. Knowing that other people value and enjoy what I create, moves me deeply.
Other ways you can help,
If you can't contribute financially, it'd still be incredibly helpful if you'd spread the word. Even if you just know one friend who's on an IV drip of Hallmark movies, to get some positivity into their life, tell them about my book and I think you'd make the both of us very happy.
