For more than 15 years, TREKSTOR has a proven track record to foster trends and innovations in the IT and consumer electronics space. Being a medium-sized enterprise with international ambitions, we develop and market our products not only in Germany, but Europe and around the globe.  

A number of TREKSTOR products reached the peak of the sales charts and established us a market leader. Cemented by legendary success stories with our first MP3 players, external hard drives and most important the “Volks” cooperation with BILD.de. But apart from that, we also established ourselves as an OEM partner for retail and industrial customers.

This includes the TREKSTOR WinPhone 4.7, which was released in March of 2015. But now it is time to replace the device with an updated and even better version. Introducing:

TREKSTOR WINPHONE 5.0

Originally developed to accompany our B2B Smartagent, the device attracted some press interest during the 2017 IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) in Berlin. And the press coverage lead to a large number of inquiries from individuals looking to replace their current Windows Mobile based smartphone, but who were not satisfied with the options available in the consumer market. Some people even suggested to put it on Kickstarter.

As TREKSTOR, priding ourselves for listening to our customers, we did just that. Check out the device below and decide for yourself.

Where are we now?

• The device is fully designed from a hardware and materials perspective.
• On the software side, the device will receive an upgrade to the latest OS version right before manufacturing, to give you the best experience possible.
• We also already found an ODM to produce the device once the campaign launched successfully.
• Finally, our logistics team is standing by to deliver each individual device to you, once they landed in Germany and have undergone final quality control.
• Should you ever have an issue, the TREKSTOR service and support team is standing by to assist you.

Features

For your convenience, the Winphone 5.0 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa-Core CPU with 1.5 GHz, which should provide ample performance for any of your needs. We also build in 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage, the latter which can be expanded by up to 64 GB via microSD card. For all the photo lovers out there, we included a 13 MP main camera with dual flash and another 5 MP selfie-cam for video-calls. They can be done from home utilizing WiFi oder via 4G on the road. Connectivity is topped of by Bluetooth 4.2, a micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

So what else is there to know? Well, much. The device is fully made from Aluminum and Glas, with the front being protected by Gorilla Glas 3. The battery capacity is 2250mAh, which provides up to 5 days of standby or up to 6 hrs of call time. And all that fits into a device with a weight of 150 gramms, that fits easily into your pocket or purse, whatever you prefer.

Important Information

• Some people maybe concerned, that Windows 10 Mobile has been written off by Microsoft. But there are two important factors to consider: Yes, there won't be any new functionality, but on the other hand, both RS3 and RS4 updates have been said to include further updates. Apart from that, Microsoft also promised to fix and bugs or security problems. From our side we can promise, that as we will provide the device with any update that is generally available.
