'Unlucky 13' trailer coming soon!
What is the 'Triptych of Terror'?
We are a diverse group of filmmakers
located in central Connecticut,
working in the horror, suspense, action, and drama genres. Film Group East
was established in 2011 with the goal of creating independent horror shorts and
feature films for festival submission and distribution. With two actors and a crew of six, we created our first
short, 'Smile'. Since then, we have expanded our group in hopes of making our next project a reality.
Each section of 'Triptych' was written
by a different member of the company and each story will be directed
individually. We wanted to hearken back to the creature feature days, but in a
modern way.
The film opens at a creepy, rundown
carnival, run by a scummy carnival barker and his pet ferret. At the freak show,
he reveals an ancient artifact known as the triptych, which contains three
stories of lust, wrath, and envy. 'Goodbye', 'Bite Me', and 'Unlucky 13', respectively, will be shot individually over the course of the next year, with a projected completion date of Fall 2014.
We have already begun production on the
first story, 'Unlucky 13' and plan to begin production on 'Bite Me' in January, and 'Goodbye' in April. The opening and closing carnival scenes will be shot in Summer 2014. While we are almost wrapped on 'Unlucky 13', the rest of the triptych requires a
slightly bigger budget to complete.
With a budget in place, we can continue
on our project, and be able to feed and possibly pay our actors. Upon
completion, 'Triptych' will be submitted to film festivals where we hope to make
our entrance in the greater film community. We will also release the film for
distribution.
Where do contributions go?
All the money earned will be used for the following:
- Meals
- Props
- Costumes
- Possible location/rental fees
- Payment for our hard-working and talented actors
- Producing DVDs
We will be offering DVDs of our past work and this project, upon completion. If you're feeling especially generous, you can get a chance to visit the set and even have a walk on role!
If we do not reach our goal, all of the money made will be put towards production. As they say, the show must go on!
Why contribute?
Every member of our company is passionate about film and the film making process. We are also great fans of horror. Our hope with our company is to make well produced, well written horror films that true fans of the genre will enjoy, as well as help put a spotlight on local film and art. Contributors help keep creativity and unique ideas alive!
