Short Summary
Hi
My name is Craig Brett. I'm a Canadian product designer and owner of Hip Product Factory based in Singapore.
Over the last year I have taken a long look at the workhorses of the tech accessory market - cord wraps - and come up with a design that I think takes this concept to the next level.
TWIG is fast, protects the earbuds and never leaves the volume control sticking out at awkward angles.
It looks pretty good too.
What We Need & What You Get
TWIG is already designed and the mechanical engineers have signed off on the prototypes. We've even come up with some great packaging.
But now is the expensive part. Production. We need a mold for the TWIG itself as well as a subsidiary mold to meld the individual components together in a process called ultrasonic.
We are looking for $7000 to get us over the top and start producing this innovative new product.
We are targeting a ship date of July 15. For shipping you will have a choice of from within the US or from Singapore.
The Impact
With so many cord wraps on the market there was always a danger that were reinventing the wheel. But I think TWIG is so original and functional that it will completely transform this market. Or at least make people smile.
So, how does TWIG work exactly?
First, we need to set it up. It's easy. Just slide the left cord into the left branch and the right into the right. TWIG then slides down to rest naturally at the V. This resting position can be adjusted by moving the little clip higher or lower.
To wrap, just slide TWIG up until the earbuds lock into place, and then wind 8 times. The volume control is perfectly aligned every time. It's quick and neat, with the buds tucked up all nice and tight.
TWIG is designed to work with Apple Earpods and Samsung's earbuds.
This is our second product after the ION, a phone stand that supports phones up to the size of the Galaxy Note in both vertical and horizontal views. And here's the cool part - it then folds into the shape of a credit card to slip easily into your wallet.
The ION was a great success and we see big things for TWIG as well. It's been a great project so far and we just need to get it to the next step.
Other Ways You Can Help
One of the downsides to designing on your own as I do is that you don't get the constant feedback to improve your product. I have been getting some great suggestions but would love to hear from more people.
And of course publicity is oxygen to any new product. The more people who spread the word about TWIG, the more likely we will hit our fundraising goal and make this happen.
Thank you everyone for reading.
