Ashley Benzwie is a Brooklyn based artist. She earned a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in installation, sculpture and moving image from NYU. After graduating with honors, she moved to Berlin on a whim. She was quickly seduced by the city, where she co-founded two artist collectives: Ideenfabrik – a group that focuses on exhibition and group performance, and Hans and Gloria – a collective that annually assembles a music festival that has drawn a significant international following. She received a grant from the city of Berlin for her documentary Drinnen Ist Ein Vögel (Inside There is a Bird), and has also produced, directed, and edited short films and exhibitions such as Wie Marmelade, Anthon’s Experiment, and If You Lived Here You’d Be Home By Now. She currently works as an editor at Nickelodeon and works out of a shared studio space in Long Island City. She is passionate about collaboration, and becoming part of a community through her work, rather than just observing it.
Arielle Tayar is a co-owner and producer at SIE Company - a grassroots live performance group working primarily on site-specific and documentary performance methods. She also co-owns Ashby & Me Productions, where she is currently producing the feature documentary film, U R Not Alone. She is the producer of THREADS (New York, NY - December, 2011), In Loving Memory (Berlin, Germany - July, 2011), and she heads the children’s drama program at Camp Kimama - an international youth movement in Israel. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, and divides her time between freelance acting, producing, directing, and editing work. She is a recent graduate of The New School’s theater program. U R Not Alone is her first feature film production.
