The senior Graphic Design students at the University of Illinois are graduating! In order to save us from being starving artists, we need your help!
For the past four (or five) years, our class has been learning the ins and outs of the design world, and now we are finally ready to actually jump into that mythical real world. This winter we will be hosting a career fair in Chicago, IL called Flux (sounds pretty fancy, right?). Flux will be our chance to network with professionals and hopefully land that job we've always been dreaming about.
How does this affect you? Maybe you know one of the thirty-five seniors personally, maybe you are a genuine lover of the arts who wants to support us as we embark on our journeys in the arts, or maybe you've got some spare change and have no where else to spend it. While all of those are great reasons to donate to our fair, we have one more: design impacts everyone all the time! Whether it's an ad in a magazine, an app or web design, packaging, logo design, or SO much more, almost everything you see has been designed by someone, somewhere.
We are the future of design, and we want to make a positive impact with our skills. Design is ever-evolving, and we hope to contribute to that change in the best way we can – through our own personal style and passions. Our group of thirty-five is unique in terms of where we plan to go after graduation, and we are hoping to end up at amazing places. That's where your assistance comes in.
Please help out our class by donating to our Graphic Design Career Fair, which will be taking place in Chicago on February 10, 2017. We will be inviting design professionals from across the nation to interview and give advice that will be critical to starting our own careers. We need to raise money that will go towards printing costs and catering for both the career fair and post-fair alumni reception. Help us make this event the best it can possibly be, and help us begin the rest of our lives.
Thank you!
