An Upgrade From Our First Generation

We've taken our first generation UL3 BT smart lock (pictured below) and packed more technology into a smaller design.

We've used our experience from retailing the UL3 model in Walmart and Home Depot to design our second generation key-less smart lock entry system with a few notable upgrades:

$50K Stretch Goal Unlocked: AutoBolt 

Ultraloq AutoBolt provides you with heavy duty dual security through deadbolt and latch which is different than any other lock. AutoBolt (requires your existing deadbolt) is a smart deadbolt interior part that connects wirelessly to your UL1 and grants access with one touch for convenience. When you gain entry through fingerprint, key fob, or Bluetooth, your AutoBolt will automatically unlock. Check the lock status at any time with the smartphone app, so you'll never worry about leaving the door unlocked again. 

AutoBolt is designed to fit both the UL1 colors beautifully with black color and satin nickel highlights.

Use Your Unique Fingerprint

 Your fingerprint is completely unique to you. It cannot be stolen, forgotten, or impersonated, making for the utmost security. Ultraloq uses the most sophisticated biometric fingerprint technology available today for identification in half a second!

The fingerprint sensor will wake automatically once you place your finger on it and is conveniently positioned to accompany your natural hand position. One seamless action allows you to wake the sensor, read your fingerprint, and unlock your door.

Bluetooth Proximity Detection

The Bluetooth compatibility allows you to ditch your keys for your smartphone! Because you already carry your phone with you everywhere, we've made it even more useful. You'll never have to worry about losing your keys, forgetting combinations or unauthorized duplicating of your key.

Quick Tap Entry

 For those who don't use a smartphone, UL1 can be unlocked with a contactless key fob. Once you present the key fob in the vicinity of handle, the door will instantly unlock. This key fob utilizes 13.56MHz frequency smart technology for fast and accurate identification. If you ever lose your key fob, you can easily delete in the app so it will no longer have access.

Monitor Access Remotely

The Ultraloq app is designed for iOS and Android devices and gives you easy door access and tracking abilities. You can view the access logs in the app for detailed information about who has opened your door, at what times, and how they gained access.

Add or delete users any time with the ability of adding up to ​100 users.

5 Screws & Done!

Ultraloq UL1 is a painless installation process with no wiring and no drilling. The simple installation takes minutes and only five screws. The handle is reversible for compatibility with both left handed and right handed doors.

UL1 fits any standard American door of regular thickness, regardless of material.

When Safety is Paramount

We don't take security lightly, on our homes or in our data storage. That's why Ultraloq uses a dual encryption process. The Ultraloq uses Bluetooth 4.0 to communicate between your smartphone and the UL1 lock. These communications are encrypted using bank level 128-bit AES via an embedded hardware coprocessor.

The second layer of protection is the Dynamic Key. This key code is randomized for every single data transfer. Even if somebody were able to capture the AES encrypted data, the Dynamic Key protection would make it impossible to for them to unlock your door.

Bridge Your Home to Your Life

With the optional Ultraloq Bridge upgrade, you can control entry to your UL1 or previous generation, UL3. Simply plug the Bridge into an outlet in your home, and you can grant access to guests and visitors via an eKey for specific dates or periods of time with no monthly fees!

Bridge is ideal for granting temporary access in any situation. You never have to leave work to rush home again. With the Bridge accessory, you can even receive smartphone notifications when someone opens your door for ultimate safety and peace of mind.

Specify Your Level of Security

UL1 features three different locking statuses for your convenience. You can set your lock to one of the following settings:

Auto Relock: UL1 will automatically relock after every time the door is used. Approved guests can unlock using fingerprint ID, key fob, or smartphone. You'll never have to wonder if you forgot to lock the door again.

Privacy Lockout: In this setting, UL1 can only be unlocked by an administrator. This setting is ideal for when you leave on vacation or business trip.

Free Passage: When you're entertaining or know that there will be people in and out of the house frequently, you can set your UL1 to this setting for free passage.

Resilient Enough for Outside Doors

The UL1 is designed to be weather resistant so that you can use it on in and outside facing doors. The fingerprint sensor is completely waterproof, scratch proof, and dust-proof, protected by a layer of quartz with high hardness. The solid zinc alloy lock body can endure harsh winters and rainy monsoons. The fingerprint sensor and the outside lock body is completely sealed to keep water and dust from penetrating any electronics.

One Year Battery Life

To ensure that you're never locked out because of a dead battery, UL1 operates on a dual battery system as well as sends your phone warnings if the battery is low. Thank to Bluetooth 4.0's ultra low power consumption technology, Ultraloq can be powered by four AA batteries with more than one year of battery life through regular use. 

Two AA batteries are in the indoor door handle & two AA batteries are in the outdoor handle.

Real Time Light Response

The tricolor LED indicator shows authorized or denied access, Bluetooth connectivity, and locking status.

There are many solutions in the market, but our team felt there weren't any that checked all the boxes. Some fingerprint locks are too bulky and look geeky; not what you want to put on your front door! 1. Is Ultraloq UL1 easy to install?
Yes, you can install it in minutes with just a screwdriver! UL1 fits all standard doors with bore hole of 2 1/8" (54 mm) diameter.

If your door is not prepped with bore hole, you can use the template included in the box as a guide to drill the hole as well.

2. Can standard door knobs or levers be replaced with this device?
Yes!

3. Does Ultraloq UL1 work for a door with a deadbolt?
You can replace your existing knob or lever with Ultraloq UL1 and keep your existing deadbolt. For backers who require deadbolt security, we are going release a new Perk for a smart deadbolt accessory which works with Ultraloq UL1 once we meet our one of our stretch goals.

4. How can I install Ultraloq UL1 to replace my existing mortise?
Help us reach our goal, and we will make it happen! We are going to release a new Perk for mortise lock body and a free tailor made kit for every backer once we meet one of our campaign stretch goals to make sure you can replace your existing mortise with Ultraloq UL1 without problem.

5. Can Ultraloq UL1 be installed on a door exposed to rain and dust, also to sunlight?
Yes, Ultraloq UL1 is weatherproof and withstand outdoor exposure.

6. Can Ultraloq UL1 be installed on a right handed or a left handed door?
Yes, the handle of Ultraloq is designed to be reversible so you can install on either one.

7. What are the thickness ranges that Ultraloq UL1 can support?

Ultraloq UL1 can be installed on any door with a thickness between 1.3 ~ 1.96 inch (33 ~ 50 mm). 

8. Does Ultraloq UL1 auto relock?
Yes, it auto relocks in 4 seconds. You can also set it to Free Passage or Lockout mode.

9. Can I open my door if I don’t have internet access?
Yes, you can use your fingerprint, key fob or your smartphone via Bluetooth to unlock.

10. Can I open my door if I don’t have my phone with me?
Yes, you can use your fingerprint or key fob to unlock.

11. Can I still open my door if the batteries die?
Yes, you can just use a coin to remove the battery cover and exchange batteries (2 X Alkaline AA batteries) from outside.

12. How long is battery life?
Ultraloq UL1 is powered by 4 X Alkaline AA batteries for up to 8,000 times access. That is to say battery life is up to 1 year on an average use of 20 times access per day. You will also get low battery alert via beeps, red LED flashing and notifications in app when your Ultraloq can still be unlocked for hundreds of times so you will have more than enough time to replace the batteries.

13. What are the max users we can program to this lock?
Total 100 users. Each user can register fingerprint, key fob, and smartphone to unlock.

14. Does Ultraloq UL1 work with Android and iOS?
Yes it does!

15. Can I unlock or check the log when away from my house via app, or do I need to be within Bluetooth range?
You can use Bluetooth to connect when you are near Ultraloq. You need Ultraloq Bridge to access, unlock, and create settings remotely.

16. Can you limit entry time from 9:00-17:00 every Monday to Friday or a specific time period like January 1 to 30?
Yes, you can share eKey in Ultraloq App via Bridge.

17. Do I need to pay for monthly fee for sharing eKey and other features in App?
No, it is free.

18. Can the App control multiple locks? We'd like to install 5 of these on a couple of doors and would like to manage them all through the app?
Yes, Ultraloq App can control multiple locks. You can manage all of the 5 Ultraloqs from Ultraloq App. Just name them differently so you know which is which.

19. Does Ultraloq Bridge work with existing Ultraloq UL3 BT locks?
Yes it does.

20. Does Ultraloq UL1 support Alexa or IFTTT?
Yes, we have included Alexa and IFTTT support as our 2nd campaign stretch goal. You will need to have Ultraloq Bridge for Alexa and IFTTT.

21. Does Ultraloq UL1 support Smart Home Hub like Wink or SmartThings?
We are working on the integration with all major smart home platforms. Wink and SmartThings are definitely in our product road map. You need to have Ultraloq Bridge.

22. What is the warranty?
Ultraloq UL1 has a 1 year electronic warranty and lifetime mechanical warranty.

23. Can I change or cancel my perk?
Indiegogo has now made it easier than ever to upgrade your perks. You can now do so on the contributions tab of your Indiegogo profile. See more information on how to do this for Indiegogo here: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/526756-How-to-Upgrade-Your-Perk

Regarding cancellations, Indiegogo policies dictate that campaign owners have no ability to adjust perk selections. Backers can upgrade, change, or cancel their perks/rewards at anytime on their contributor's profile until the campaign has closed. After the campaign has ended and funds have been disbursed, the campaigners will evaluate such requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

24. Are batteries included?

Batteries are included for all US orders. Unfortunately, we cannot include batteries for customers outside of the US because of limitations on battery transportation and shipping by express courier.

25. How many Ultraloq locks can one Ultraloq Bridge support? 

One Ultraloq Bridge is needed for each Ultraloq for best performance and stability.

26. How many Ultraloqs (UL1 and/or UL3 BT) does the Ultraloq app support? 

There is no limit! As many as you'd like.

27. I purchased an Ultraloq UL1 + Bridge. Now I want to add AutoBolt in the same shipment. Why am I being charged shipping again? 

International shipping cost is calculated based on the item weight. The shipping cost for UL1 + Bridge + AutoBolt is divided into two perks in accordance with the respective weight. You are not paying extra shipping cost, just what each item will require to send to you. 

28. What voltage and frequency does Ultraloq Bridge support? Can I get the same plug as in my country? 

Ultraloq Bridge supports 100-240 VAC and 50/60 Hz. At this moment, only US style is available, which is widely used in Americas. A power adapter may be required if you are outside Americas. We will consider other plug style if we receive substantial orders from certain region.

29. What is the difference between AutoBolt and Deadbolt? Do I have to order Deadbolt if I ordered AutoBolt already?

Deadbolt is a typical mechanical ANSI 2 Rated deadbolt (exterior part with locking mechanism) which fits UL1 in style. AutoBolt is a smart deadbolt (interior part) which replaces your existing deadbolt (interior part) and works with UL1 as an accessory. It can work with the majority of deadbolts in the market. If you don't have deadbolt or want your door looks in uniform, you can order Deadbolt.
