Introduction:

Unveiled is a short drama being produced in Toronto, Ontario. We're a group of young filmmakers eager to tell a story charged with social relevance.
The film follows an independent French ice cream shop owner who must decide whether or not to serve a woman wearing a niqab on the day full face covers are banned in France.

Michele 'Kinda Vegan' DesLauriers | Writer/Director/Producer/Post-Sound
A French-Canadian beauty, Michele strives to bring up important social topics in her films. She's passionate about social justice, dance and being vegan when it suits her.
Christophe 'Pure Nerd' Vaugeois | Producer/Editor
Christophe has recently moved to Toronto in hopes of developing a career in the film industry. This is the only time you'll see him in a dress shirt; his fashion sense is very... unique. His passions outside of film include Magic: The Gathering, video games and making people laugh.

Nathan 'The Plague' Riddell - Cinematographer
A descendant of vikings, Nathan is a fierce warrior on the film battlefield. But really, he's just a talented guy who won't stop smiling. It's really contagious, just like the plague. Be careful. Nathan likes women, photography and sunscreen.
Eric 'Italian Stereotype' Bizzarri - Production Manager
His name really is that Italian. Eric loves nothing more than to talk to people about movies, loudly. If Italian Stereotype wasn't his middle name, then enthusiasm would be. Eric is a fan of swimming, skiing and billiards. If I were to guess his true passions they would be spaghetti, bruschetta and talking with your hands.
We have over a dozen other dedicated crew members on the set and they're excited to make an amazing short film.

Mamito Kukwikila | Amelia
She'll be playing Amelia, a British woman with gentle brown eyes. Amelia is well aware of the new law, but her activist inclination guides her to stand with the women whose freedom to wear what they choose has been stripped away.

Sheelagh Daly | Claudine
Sheelagh is portraying Claudine, a confident, stylish French woman who owns a new ice cream parlour in Paris. Claudine is caught between her feminist values and her compassion for others.

Why We Need YOU:
Unveiled will be shot in a studio space over the course of three days. The team will need to construct, paint and decorate an ice cream parlour inside the studio. Therefore, a lot of the cost will come in construction materials, set dressing, costumes and props.
While we have access to a lot of equipment, it still isn't enough and we'll need to rent some camera and lighting equipment. We also need food to feed our entire cast and crew over the course of 2 build days and 3 shooting days. That's a lot of ice cream! Other costs include transportation, parking and a professional score.
