Valor Jewelry will provide revolutionary, incredibly durable, metal Crosses and Crucifixes with a hidden memory chamber to place a locket of your loved ones hair, soil from your homeland or even ashes of a loved one.
The idea came about as Marine veteran Chris Gillingham, one of the co-founders, kept breaking his crucifix that he wears religiously everyday. He also was hearing and seeing many of his fellow service members complaining about the same thing. When any service member is deployed, often times their cross or crucifix is their lifeline to loved ones and provides strength and comfort.
With previous manufacturing experience, We thought we should be able to manufacture something that is of the highest quality while also preserving the legacy of a loved one.
The most expensive part of manufacturing our Cross & Crucifix is having the molds manufactured. It takes several molds to make the various sizes of the mens and womens cross and crucifix.
To break it down in general terms, the process involves:
- Engineering of the product (which we already have completed via CAD design and 3d printing prototypes.)
- Manufacturing of the molds by the tool shop. We need a mold for each design and size that we offer.
- Then off to manufacturing by Metal Injection Molding (MIM).
If you would like to learn more about (MIM) you can follow the below link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_injection_m...
- Packaging design is very important to us as well. We needed to design packaging that was worthy of such a high quality product as our Cross and Crucifix. Plus we wanted something durable for the men and women deployed, so that it arrives in perfect condition. Were going to leave it as a surprise but we think you will love the packaging so much you won't be throwing it away.
Your contribution is so important to us! Whether it's a locket of their loved ones hair, soil from their homeland or even ashes of a loved one, We KNOW so many service members and their family members would appreciate this Cross and Crucifix.
One challenge we face is the design of the Crucifix. Trying to generate a mesh 3d CAD design for the tool shop that they can use for the manufacturing of the mold. We want the detail to be perfect. The biggest challenge we face is the costs of the molds. We looked into other manufacturing processes that may have been more cost effective but wouldn't produce the high quality we wanted to achieve. Metal injection molding is BY FAR the best route for us to go. Especially because we are using the highest grade stainless steel and aircraft grade aluminum available. The cross and crucifix necklaces will be of the highest quality and virtually indestructible.
We understand that you may not be financially able to contribute, but that doesn't mean you can't help:
We here at Valor Jewelry thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
