Victorious: Women of the Gridiron. The Fourth Quarter is here!
This film is not finished!! We need your help. Post production is now required. But if the D.C. Divas have taught us anything, it's that you play your heart out 'til the very last second of the fourth quarter. So we're taking a page from their playbook and launching another campaign in the hope that you'll be able to help us score one more touchdown and help us finish our documentary. This documentary is a game changer for women's football so let's change it together.
Director's Statement

Let's deal with the name change first. It's big news. After spending nine months with the D.C. Divas the title "Women With Balls" just felt wrong. I wanted to have a title that would acknowledge the efforts of every WFA player to simply get on the field and play full contact football. There are so many obstacles, yet thousands overcome them every week and play with their sisters on the field. They are all Victorious in my eyes. You could also say I fell in love with my subject matter. Usually, this would be bad news for a filmmaker due to lost objectivity. But in this instance love and respect is the glue that holds the Diva sisterhood together - so you just can't help getting covered in it!
Film Synopsis
VICTORIOUS is a documentary that tailgated the D.C. DIVAS— one of the top women’s football team in America—during their 2015 season.
Filmmaker Robert Mac embedded himself with the Divas as they hit the road to tear up some serious gridiron, capturing their camaraderie, sisterhood, and spirit along the way.
It takes great courage for each Diva to step onto the field. Each woman has a unique life story of how she got there and the life lessons the game has taught her along the way.
VICTORIOUS is offering a no-holds-barred, behind-the-sidelines look at the Divas, some of the toughest and most skilled female football players in the country.
Why The World Should Know About The Divas
The women of the Divas and all other Women's Football Alliance teams have proven that excellence in sports know no gender.
On any given Saturday, you’ll find more than 5,000 female players battling it out in full contact American football. They play as semi-professionals on nearly 100 teams across the nation. They play hard, and they play for each other. They play regardless of the stereotype that football is “a man’s game” or that women shouldn’t play, unless it’s “friendly” or “powderpuff” or they’re stripped down to their underwear to tackle for men’s entertainment.
It is the filmmakers' goal—one that is shared with the Divas—that this film will empower others to step outside the box society has created for them and enlist everyone in the fight for true equality—on the field, off the field, in the workplace, and beyond.
