The idea behind Virtual Screams is to offer theme park style Haunt experiences using the new Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
I've built my career the past 10 years as a video game Environment Artist, and I'm currently the art lead for SchoolofDragons.com,
before I started my career in video games I worked at Disneyland in
Attractions and then in the Entertainment Department for almost 13
years. My goal is to bring my past experience in both theme park design
and video game development to make an unique virtual reality experience
which I plan to offer on the Oculus Rift. (http://www.oculusvr.com/) The Oculus Rift will be available for purchase in Quarter one of 2016 and must be purchased separately as it is not a part of this campaign.
Our first VR experience will make its premier at Scare LA (scarela.com) August 8-9th at the Pasadena Convention Center.
The Phobia Simulator
Designed to simulate and cure phobias and anxieties for their patients the Phobia Simulation chamber is the newest edition to the Phobos Laboratories.
You are the next volunteer for testing and you will soon learn that sometimes the thing to fear...is fear itself.
Risks and challenges
I've been working in the video game industry for 10 years and I've
been through many tight deadlines and challenging projects as an Art
Lead. So I have experience tackling large projects like the haunted
mazes we will be building for Virtual Screams. The best way to be
successful is to surround yourself with good people, and I'm lucky to
have a great team of fellow Game Developers who are committed to help
make this project happen.
A facebook page for this project has already been set up on which we
will post updates and images of the progress on current mazes and
projects. So you will be able to check in on our current progress as the
mazes get closer to completion.

We
have a grand vision for what the Virtual Screams experience could be
and that is where you come in. We are demoing our current progress at the ScareLA convention for free this August 8-9th at the Pasadena Convention Center in California. After the convention we will post videos of the reactions we get from the haunt enthusiasts who experience the Demo there as well as keep you up to date on our progress moving forward with new content.
So make a pledge and help make Virtual Screams a
reality!
Thank you,
