What is Visions of Zosimos?
Visions of Zosimos (VoZ) is an online collectible card game that seamlessly integrates deep tactical turn-based combat in a hex based layout, while harnessing the social aspects of the massively multiplayer online (MMO) genre. VoZ is a PC game for windows based machines, built on the Hero Engine that will utilize a dedicated player client. A single game session will occur in a 3D board environment and allow each player to engage in direct combat with his or her avatar on the board, as well as play various cards from his or her deck enacting a multitude of effects on gameplay. A player achieves victory by defeating all opposing players' avatar(s), and additional game modes are in development which are based on other achievements. We place strategy, balance, and fun at the forefront of our essential tenets of gameplay and strive every day to make this a reality within VoZ.

VoZ is a historical fiction game and draws inspiration from Alchemy and Mysticism, bringing the ancient precursor to chemistry and ancient texts from our world together in a synergy of the mystical and mundane. A player will learn to transmute the elements and spiritual forces to fight battles in the Afterlife where the digital terrain becomes more and more alive with the placement of every card.
When a player signs up for the game and logs in, they become a student of the Visions of Zosimos, written by Zosimos the Moravian, a mystic from the 16th century who recorded his visions and alchemical insights in a series of manuscripts. Lost to time, surviving copies were brought to light by Bertold Slate, a professor focused on 16th century mysticism, gnosticism, and hermetic alchemy. As the foremost authority on the works of Zosimos he soon began to attract the attention of other like minded scholars and modern mystics. Things changed when he shared the Visions with a friend who was a mathematician and Computer Science professor. Together they began to create programs that could express the complex formulae of the arcane texts in the language of computers; this game is the interface, allowing novices to be inducted into an eternal struggle for the very nature of existence. Entering the virtual academy, player avatars can explore the materials available for study and create homunculi that will represent them in battles. The player becomes empowered with the addition of cards which are earned through exploration, victory, or purchase. These tools for mastering the maps and adversaries in the great struggle are manifestations of power generated by the arcane mathematical coding of the Visions Program. They allow the initiated to travel the path towards triumph, desolation, or even immortality.

Who We Are:
Forever Interactive (FI) is a Wisconsin based independent videogame developer, that runs a virtual, cloud-based studio. We are dedicated to making a deep and meaningful impact on the gaming community, which is why many of us have stayed with FI for many years, pouring our own money into the success of VoZ. As such, we have day jobs that takes away from our ability to dedicate full-time development work to this project.
Your assistance will allow us to further expedite the development process and bring the full vision of VoZ to the masses.
What We Need & What You Get
Funds received from this campaign will be allocated in order of the following breakdown, from top to bottom:
GenCon:
This is by far and large our most important event. GenCon gives direct access to our key customers more than any other convention. Our partnership with eBash is paramount to this and that is why this cost is so high. It unfortunately has gone up since last year, but that is the nature of doing business.
3D Models:
The next most important aspect is outsourcing 3d models. By outsourcing these, it will allow us to focus on other, more important aspects of development and allow us to provide you with a high quality deliverable earlier than we expected.
Marketing Budget:
Word of mouth is king when it comes to advertising. To this end, we are placing our third highest cost priority on the marketing budget. Getting high quality swag and giveaways at conventions and public events is crucial and will allow us to grow the community even faster.
Everything Else:
We have tons of funding needs beyond just what is listed on the preceeding image, but as a remider, we are, and have been, working for no pay for a long time on this title as well as fronting all operations costs out or our own pocket, so any money we get beyond our goal will help us that much more.
More personal money we have free = more money and time we can reinvest into the company and project!
With that in mind, when/if we get close to our goal amount we will be announcing stretch goals .

Each digital starter pack contains a pre-built themed, competitive 60 card deck which you can play straight out of the box or customize with your existing card collection. This deck guarantees you one Epic card! This is a great entry level deck to get you into the world of Visions of Zosimos and playing right away!

Each digital booster box contains 36 digital booster packs (540 cards) which are unpacked individually then added to your card collection. You are also guaranteed one rare Epic bonus foil card! A box will give you will have the upper hand when it comes to customizing your decks.

Dice Skin:
This is a purely cosmetic item. It will change the appearance of your dice in-game. It will NOT change roll probability or any mechanical outcome of the dice.
Homunculus Skin:
This is a purely cosmetic item. This will change the appearance of your Homunculus in-game. This will NOT change any mechanical/gameplay aspect of your homunculus.
Card Sleeves:
The digital card sleeve is a purely cosmetic item. This will change the appearance of the rear side of your cards in-game. This will NOT change any mechanical aspect of your deck/cards.
Deck Box:
The digital deck boxes are an in-game visual representation of your deck in the prior to gameplay beginning. This will be represented in the loadout screen, loading screen and more. This is a purely cosmetic item and will NOT affect any mechanical/gameplay aspect of your deck and/or discard pile.
Card Season 1 Pass:
This will include 1 of each card from Release 1 of Visions of Zosimos.

In-Game Currency Boost:
This will increase the rate by which the player gains in-game (non-premium) currency through routine gameplay by the designated percentage. This permanent increase is stackable with any additional in-game currency boost that can be applied to your account. Note: This MSRP is based on one concurrent year of gameplay. Additionally, this item will not be offered post release of the game.
Homunculus XP Boost:
This will increase the rate by which the players Homunculus gains experience points through routine gameplay by the designated percentage. This permanent increase is stackable with any additional experience boost that can be applied to your account. Note: This MSRP is based on one concurrent year of gameplay. Design Council:
This will be a special section of the forums locked to all players other than those on the design council. This section of the forums will allow council members to, among other things, allocate votes to various design decisions during the continued development of Visions of Zosimos, thereby taking an active role in the development of the game and shaping the future VoZ. This will put our Design Council at the forefront of our open door development giving them the most power to shape our development process.

Risks & Challenges
Many crowdfunding projects are in early development stages or only consist of concepts and ideas. VoZ has been in development for a number of years and seen a number of alpha stages, during which many of our team members have been working in their spare time. We have a substantial sized team working towards our next stretch of development and we are hoping to release our perpetual open beta in August of 2016 at GenCon in Indianapolis, Indiana. The money you help us raise will ensure that we not only are able adhere to our release roadmap, but depending on stretch goals, we can hopefully accelerating development moving forward. .

FAQ:
Can I purchase if I am outside of the US?
-Yes, however, understand that we are a small team with little funding at this time. As such, we do not have plans to localize VoZ to formats external to the United States at this time. While this may change in the future, if you cannot read English, then please understand that you may not get a version of VoZ that is in your native language.
Will there be formats other than PC/Windows?
-Due to the contracts and constraints of the Hero Engine at this time and our current financial situation, we cannot afford to obtain source code access to the Hero Engine. While this may change in the future, at this time, we only plan to release VoZ on Windows/PC machines.
Where can I go to discuss/share my idea(s)?

Will VoZ be on Steam?
-This is a good question, and for right now, we honestly do not know. There are a lot of constraints we have to contend with in relation to microtransactions, payments, client based downloads, etc... For obvious reasons we are actively working on resolutions to this with the hopes that upon our launch, we will be able to utilize Steam as a partner.
Does VoZ have DRM?
-Due to the inherent nature of the game, it requires a persistent internet connection to be able to play. When the game launches in gold status, despite the fact that it will have PvE, it will still require an internet connection. This is not due to DRM in the strictest sense, but rather the fact that VoZ harnesses MMO features as part of gameplay. However, considering that VoZ requires an internet connection, people may consider this a form of DRM.
When will I receive my backer rewards?
-Digital backer rewards will be sent to you via email upon the release of the in-game storefront.
