For Seniors

The main use case for VitalBand is for seniors who either choose to age in place or want to maintain their independence. Without anyone around to see a fall or hear cries for help, VitalBand automatically detects a fall and calls out and alerts pre-programmed emergency contacts so help arrives quickly.
For Teens

As we finished our first prototype, many of our friends suggested this watch would be useful for their children in high school or college. Because of the 'panic' button on the face of the watch, if your student feels threatened or in danger, he or she could automatically call out and text for help.
For Athletes

Aside from emergency alerts, VitalBand also monitors heart rate, respiration rate, activity levels, calories burned, is fully waterproof, shows date and time, and can be pre-programmed to show medical reminders and goal notifications. Because of these sports-oriented functions, many athletes have also shown interest in our watch as well.
We have successfully Beta-tested VitalBand through participant studies and messaging on Facebook. With your contribution, we can begin to mass produce to meet our recent demand.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to begin producing these watches to meet the demand. We have chosen to build VitalBand in the United States, and therefore more capital is needed to achieve the necessary volume.

Our Inspiration

VitalBand began out of necessity; many of us at the company felt strongly that as "aging in place" became the norm, our parents were facing more danger than ever. Falls are the number one cause of death for people over 65 years old, and despite these facts, our parents were too humiliated to wear the pendant. It's an admission of infirmity.
As a result of this need, we created VitalBand, the first ever automatic fall detection smart watch. Unlike the pendant, when you fall, it calls - automatically. It's also a fully functioning smart watch, so anyone would be proud to wear it.

President
Ernie Ianace has a full range of experience, from startups, to complex global matrix organizations. He has extensive relationships both domestic and international with tier one channels, large enterprise and government customers plus many leading services providers. Mr. Ianace has over 30 years of extensive sales, marketing and management experience. Mr. Ianace has a track record of driving revenues to $100+ million in a record 12-24 months. He has held executive positions at Siemens, Efficient Networks, NoMagic, and 3Com Corp.
Tom Hansen

Tom Hansen was President and CEO of Heeling Sports Limited (HLYS:NASDAQ), President of TMAdvertising / McCann Worldgroup (IPG:NASDAQ), and President and CEO of Gigasphere Group. He is an award-winning Creative Director for: Leo Burnett, Y&R, Tracy-Locke for McDonalds, Hallmark, Miller Brewing Company, Frito Lay, and American Airlines.

Dr. Glenn Hamilton has spent more than 30 years as an experienced emergency physician. He has written three textbooks and published over 100 papers and articles. Dr. Hamilton served as Professor and Chair in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Wright State University and is a Professor Emeritus.
