This crowdfunding campaign is for the new-music project Vulnus. Our goal is to develop a different format to the traditional concert. This will allow our music to reach a more varied audience and address the concept of the performance with greater depth.
We believe that music can benefit immensely by strengthening its relationship to the other performing arts. To this end, with your contributions, we will be able to work with the choreographer Kenzo Kuzuda as well as the visual artist and light designer Emese Csornai.

Our aim is to show how the expression and meaning of music can be accentuated by other layers like movement, space and light. The interpreters explore aspects of performing that are rarely used in music concerts. Therefore they require the advice of various artists from other disciplines.
We are very excited by the possibility of working with Kenzo and Emese before our premiere on 7th September. Having experienced the tremendous impact of movement and lights in our music, we have realised the importance they play in our understanding of the character and intention of each piece.
These two artists both have insights into more than one discipline and have collaborated with musicians before. Additionally, they work with improvisation, which is an important tool in our creative process.

The Vulnus artistic team is:
Manuel Sánchez composes the music.
Georgi Sztojanov composes the music and performs as a tenor.
Irene Sorozábal performs as a mezzo-soprano and recorder player. She is also the producer.
Our goal is to organically and artistically connect two musical fields: the recorder and the voice. With this project we want to explore their common quality -vulnerability. We believe that embracing vulnerability in performance is the best tool for real communication.
