The Project
WAR Gamer! investigates the psychology and world of competitive gamers. In this multi-part series we travel to the world’s largest tournaments, interview the competitors and event organizers, get insights from the experts, and discover what makes some people turn casual games into competitive events. We'll be covering every type of game imaginable from board, card and dice games to video, LARP, and roleplaying games.
Who We Are
We're a group of professional filmmakers who love playing games!
For nearly 30 years, host Gregory Baker has been a Game Master of roleplaying games and an avid player of board and card games. After numerous interactions with extremely competitive gamers (especially his uncle!), Greg wanted to took an in-depth look at what makes competitive gamers tick, and expose more people to the exciting world of competitive gaming.
Some of Greg's favorite games include: Settlers of Catan, Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, Carcassone, Titan, Magic: The Gathering, Munchkin, Shadowrun, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Why We Need Your Help
Mostly we need support traveling to the events. Your support makes sure we get our crew where the action is so we can capture the best footage possible. We want to be there when they crown the next D&D champions, and you're donations make that possible.
Where You Come In
Donate!
Your support makes you part of the film, and that makes you awesome! It also gives you an opportunity to meet us and get involved. If you're a supporter and see us at a convention, we'd love to talk to you!
Are you a musician?
Consider contributing music. A documentary requires an enormous amount of music, and we’d love to feature the work of aspiring composers and musicians. We would love music inspired by, or somehow related to board, card, or roleplaying games!
Are you an artist?
Consider contributing artwork inspired by your favorite board, card, or roleplaying game. Try to avoid copying existing work, but if you have an artistic flair and feel inspired, we’d love to feature your work in the documentary!
Have a personal story to share?
Gamers have great stories. Like the time your DM went crazy after your level 7 Warrior, with 1 hit point left, rolled a natural 20 and landed the killing blow on an Ancient Black Dragon with a flying headbutt. It’s happened, you were there, and we want to hear about it – especially if it involves a confrontation with a ‘rules lawyer’.

You guys rock! I’ve been gaming for most of my life, and it’s been amazing meeting others who are as passionate about dice rolling, ogre slaying, trading cards, and saving princesses as I am.
