ALL YOUR FAVORITE ANDROID AUDIO APPS
Swimcast has Google’s Chromecast Audio built in, so it’s already optimized for popular streaming apps like Spotify on Android. The popularity of the Chromecast means that as new audio apps become available over time, they will likely be supported. As a bonus, the native Cast button in Android will stream any audio coming from your phone!
CONTINUOUS AUDIO STREAMING
Powered by the WiFi enabled Chromecast Audio, Swimcast delivers continuous audio even during flip turns and push offs. Popular wireless technologies like Bluetooth can’t play music in the pool without interruptions. By creating a mobile WiFi hotspot on your phone, you can use Swimcast anywhere, and if your pool already provides WiFi, you can just start your playlist from the locker room and leave your phone behind.

ANY SONG ANY TIME
Life is full of limits, but your music library shouldn’t be one of them. Mp3 players and recent “streaming” devices limit you to a few gigabytes of storage and force you to plan your music ahead of time. With Swimcast, you can pick the music you are in the mood for while you are at the pool, making your playlist infinite!
NO WASTED TIME DOWNLOADING
One of the best benefits of streaming music on your phone is that it’s hassle free, and bringing music to the pool shouldn’t be any different. Why waste time buying songs, downloading them to your computer or phone, and then transferring them to your music player? Direct streaming on Swimcast simplifies the whole process, so all you have to do is press play and cast it.
NO PAID ACCOUNTS REQUIRED
Swimcast streams live from the internet while you swim, so you don’t need to purchase any premium accounts. Instead, the money you save on a Spotify subscription you can spend on new swim gear, a gym membership, or even just a nice meal. Since you are not locked into one service, you can stream Pandora one day and YouTube the next.
BEST AUDIO QUALITY AVAILABLE
Another benefit of incorporating Google’s Chromecast Audio into Swimcast is the high-quality sound it delivers. Wireless technologies like Bluetooth over-compress files and degrade the audio quality of your music. WiFi maintains lossless compression creating better detail and a more dynamic range. At 24 Bits and 96kHZ, Swimcast is even better than CD quality, giving you the highest quality audio available in the pool.
EVERYTHINGPROOF
Between the certain peril of water, and inevitable chips, scuffs, and scratches of concrete, pools are a dangerous place to take your precious electronics. At Waterfi we know water, and we know pools. For seven years we have tested every which way to keep your electronics safe. Equipped with our most durable process yet, Swimcast is watertight and completely cushioned from any hazard you could run into when you head out for a swim.

SIMPLE ONE TIME SETUP
Swimcast has a Chromecast Audio built into its core, so it uses the same, user-friendly software developed by the masters at Google. Just download the 'Google Home' app and follow the simple, one-time setup process shown in the video below. Every time you go to the pool after that all you have to do is open a Chromecast supported app (which most are), choose your music, and press the Cast button.

Our Kickstarter campaign raised over $33,000, giving us all the funding we need to make swimcast a reality, but we want to keep Swimcast available to pre-order at a discounted rate until our production line is fully up and running. On top of that, the Swimcast only scratches the surface of what we can do with the patent pending technology we used to create it. Make a pledge now so you can be among the first in line to get a Swimcast when it’s ready.
At this stage of our project, we have:
- Built a working prototype
- Tested Swimcast while swimming laps and doing flip turns
- Designed the electronics & hardware
- Produced products in the past that will use the same in-house manufacturing equipment and suppliers
- Produced almost 200,000 waterproof devices over the last seven years, proving we can produce high-quality electronics for swimmers.
- Raised enough funding to launch production of Swimcast

FAQ
What apps work with Swimcast on Android?
A big reason we chose to use a Chromecast Audio inside of Swimcast is the fact that it gives us full Android integration. This means any and every app that you can get on Android will work with Swimcast! Audiobooks, Podcasts, mp3s stored on your phone, even Apple Music! They all work because the Android Operating System has a Cast button built into the Settings so it will stream any audio that would normally come out of your phone, over to the Swimcast.
What apps work with Swimcast on iOS?
Swimcast is compatible with iPhone and iPad. The Google Chromecast Audio we use to power Swimcast is set up to work with a variety of iOS apps.
When using your iPhone as a Mobile Hotspot you can use:
- iHeartRadio
- Google Play Music
In addition to that, if you can connect to your gym's Wifi or if you swim at home, you can also use:
- Spotify
- Pandora
- Youtube Music
- Soundcloud
- Pocket Casts
- Tidal
- Slacker
- NPR One
- Deezer
- ...and quite a few more.
Unfortunately, Apple and Amazon do not support casting in their iOS apps so Amazon music, Audible, Apple Podcasts & Apple Music aren't supported on iOS.
Apple Music and all other apps do work with Swimcast on Android though.
What is a hotspot?
There are two ways to connect to the internet on Swimcast: you can use a building’s existing WiFi or make your own WiFi, otherwise known as a hotspot. A hotspot can be made on your iOS or Android phone or tablet by simply pressing a single button, usually in your quick settings dropdown window. There are also standalone hotspot devices that use the same cell towers your phone uses to turn a 4G data connection into a WiFi network.
Pro tip: Set your phone’s hotspot to the same name and password as your home wifi network and Swimcast will automatically connect. This way you can conveniently set up Swimcast at home and not do anything different to connect on your phone.
