What an Idiot is a comedic feature film about a man who is down on his luck in the love department, so he lies about his identity to get close to the woman of his dreams. Unfortunately, the little white lie that brings them together may ultimately tear them apart… forever.
Who We Are: Peter Benson (Director) & Julia Benson (Producer)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our campaign! We had a blast writing this script and can’t wait to bring it to the big screen. We are a married Actor/Writer/Producer/Director couple who loves creating together! We have both been fortunate enough to make a living as actors for the past ten years but along the way, discovered that we wanted more out of our careers.
We realized that sitting around waiting for the phone to ring would ultimately never lead to a life of creative fulfillment. The best way to have a voice, and to tell stories that we believe in was to create them ourselves. So this is what we have started to do! About five years ago we began writing and producing. So far, we have shot a half hour comedy pilot with CityTV, and just recently finished our first feature film Death Do Us Part, which will be released in 2013.
Why Do We Need Your Help?
After working in the industry for the past decade we have been fortunate enough to build solid relationships with some of the most talented actors and crew that you could find anywhere in the world. The currency we have is people. Great, passionate and highly skilled people who have a shared desire to work together to make projects we believe in and What an Idiot is one of these projects.
Producing takes a ton of drive, passion and a dedicated team of individuals willing to do whatever it takes to make the film the best it can possibly be. We are extremely fortunate to have an ample supply of all of these things! Unfortunately, it also takes a ton of cash and this is where we need your help.
We really believe in this film and we are determined to shoot it even if we don't meet our goal but any help that you could give would go a long way! All of the money raised will go towards:
