WHAT’S WRONG WENDY is a sapphic tribute to the monstrous, feral women who struggle to hold onto their humanity. Think a dash of Jennifer’s Body, a sprinkle of Ginger Snaps, and a dollop of High Tension, all rolled into the packaging of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. A violent and grounded tragedy, this movie will satiate your hunger for female angst and a brutal storyline.
Valentine’s Day, 2025. Wendy Day, a pizza delivery girl, rolls up to a house party armed with a stack of pies and a rock-bottom sense of expectation. But when the door swings open, her heart, or fate, or something equally ridiculous, takes a direct hit. There stands Victoria Sinclair, the jaw-droppingly gorgeous homeowner who seems just as stunned. Victoria invites Wendy in, and despite the fact that her shift has barely started, Wendy tosses her job and common sense straight out the window. She’s single, and this is a sign, right? The night becomes a dizzying blur, culminating in a kiss so electric it could power the whole block. Wendy floats out of the party on cloud nine, her mind buzzing with possibility.
And then she dies.
Hours later, Wendy wakes up. Ravenous. Confused. Undeniably undead. Her first meal? A group of unlucky partygoers. Sated but shaken, she stumbles back to Victoria’s house, still clinging to that Cupid’s-arrow feeling lodged in her now-nonexistent pulse. Victoria, meanwhile, has spent the night spiraling into regret, cursing herself for letting her dream girl walk away. At dawn, there’s a knock. She opens the door to find Wendy, blood-soaked, glassy-eyed, and staring at her like she’s the last slice of pizza on earth. Against all reason, that spark from their kiss flares up, and Victoria lets her in. It doesn’t take long for reality to sink in: this is not romance anymore. But then, something in Wendy’s bloodshot eyes catches her off guard...tears. Humanity. A plea.
By the end of the night, Victoria makes the worst decision of her life.
Love is hard enough without your undead crush trying to eat you.

Sequoia Lake is the kind of town people drive through and forget if they are lucky. Nestled deep in the forested hills of the Pacific Northwest, it is surrounded by towering redwoods, heavy fog, and an eerie stillness that never quite lifts. The lake itself sits at the town's edge, a dark, placid body of water with no recorded depth and a history of unexplained drownings.
At first glance, Sequoia Lake is quaint. Americana with a side of unease. Diners with flickering neon signs, a crumbling high school, and winding streets that all lead back to the lake. But underneath the nostalgia lies something festering. The town has secrets, bloody, ancient, and very much alive.

Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean they can't help:
Please spread the word! Indie Filmmaking is all about helping each other out and supporting even if we don't have the money to do so. A facebook share, or instagram story can help shoot us in the right direction for funding.
I get it—supporting an IndieGoGo campaign from a filmmaker you’ve never heard of? That’s a leap. It’s a gamble, I know. But if there’s ever a day where you feel like saying, “
Screw it, let’s invest in someone’s art,” let that day be today.
Take a chance. On me.
Because who knows? Maybe this little leap turns into something unforgettable.
Thanks for even considering it.
