Overview
Africa NTJILO Empowerment is a Swaziland registered non-profit organization that strives to provide voluntary music education and community empowerment programs geared towards the underprivileged youth and local communities in Swaziland. Our professional instructors train local Swazi community members to become qualified music instructors.

OUR PROJECTS

1. Voluntary Music Education

2. Teacher Training

3. Mbabane Chamber Orchestra

Why #NTJILO? Why #Wheels4Hope?

Parts of Swaziland suffer greatly from various social issues. Severe gender inequality, sexual violence and lack of basic sanitation contribute to high levels of HIV. The younger population struggle from poor conditions and lack a safe learning environment that we often take for granted. Approximately 24% of the younger demographic, age 0 to 17, are orphaned and 16% of the orphans live in instability.

Africa NTJILO Empowerment’s focus lie in taking care of the underprivileged youth in the town of Mahwalala, Mbabane. The Mahwalala children lack a physical environment for them to learn and interact with their peers. The general lack of proper security and infrastructure often discourage these children from pursuing basic education. These issues eventually impact the future of the community’s economic growth, leading to  severe social disparity, discrimination, poverty and the lingering mentality of hopelessness.

IMPACT

In the short run, we are ultimately creating an environment where children can be properly supported by our musical education, life skills training, and psychological interaction. Not only will our students learn from our classes, they will gain confidence, feel at home, and establish foundational virtues that will ultimately uplift the community spirit.

In the long-term, we aim to create a sustainable community, eradicate cyclical poverty and social exclusion by utilizing music as a powerful educational and rehabilitation tool. Socially, we will build global connections with international musicians to create jobs and eliminate the youth unemployment rate in the country.

YOUR DONATION

SCHOOL BUS

100% of the donated funds will be used to purchase a school bus to make our students' commute easier.
Without a proper mode of transportation, students walk an average of two hours just to get to class. A whopping four hour commute that could be used for far more valuable activities. With a school bus, students can save their physical and mental strength for their precious class time.
