The Film
Wicked Smart is the story of a young man named Patton, who is working a job he hates in a town he's bored of with people he, for the most part, he doesn't relate to. It's the story of someone too educated for where he is in life, and what that means for the people around him. It's a story that's highly relatable in a time when good jobs are hard to come by, and bad jobs easy to grab. It's a film that looks at why sometimes we decide against taking the risks in life we know we need to.
Written and Directed by Matt Brisby, Wicked Smart is the first foray into scripted short film for both Matt, and much of the cast and crew. All of whom are ready to pour their heart and soul into this project to tell the story of Wicked Smart in the best possible way.
Where Your Money Goes
Luckily for us, we already own much of the equipment we need to shoot the film. We're also fortunate that our entire cast and crew is able to volunteer their time for this picture. However, there are some things we need money for in order to tell this story.
- Location fees: With two major locations in this film being actual places of business we need approximately $1000 to cover usage fees
- Transportation fees: Our whole cast and crew are volunteers, but they live all over the greater Halifax area and we would like to cover their transportation to and from set. We estimate this at around $300 for that cost.
- Costumes: We figure we'll need $100 for specific costumes that are essential to telling the story.
- Craft Service: Since all of our cast and crew are volunteers we'd really like to be able to feed all those participating during the long days of filming that we have ahead of us. Any funding we receive that we don't need for our other costs will be going towards this.

Why Us
There are many, many films out there trying to crowd fund like we are, but what you have with Wicked Smart is something different and fresh. It's a story that really doesn't shake down the way you think it will. It's a fresh take on an overlooked topic.
It's also the first chance for a group of young filmmakers, actors and artists to express themselves, and create a piece of truly honest art to give to the world.
Other Ways to Help
Some people just canāt contribute finically, and that's totally okay. We here at Wicked Smart know what it's like to be broke, that's why we're here! But just because you can't throw some cash our way doesn't mean you can't help in a very real way. Some things things you can do are:
