Short Summary

• Hi, thank you for being here! We are a group of 6 passionate filmmakers from York St John University who want to make a great film on issues that are so real and dangerous in the world today. 
• Wired is a short film about a lonely teenager, Jamie who grows tired of having no friends at college and decides to create his very own friend through the use of AI. Over time, he grows infatuated with the idea of being friends with the AI and his relationship with his family becomes strained. Will he be able to confront his reality and repair his bond with those around him, or succumb to the perfect relationship they have crafted through technology?
• We are very passionate about this project and we're going to need your help to make it the best it could possibly be!

What We Need & What You Get

We are attempting to raise £1,091 to go towards our short film, to make the most of this experience and bring this wild world to life. All of the money we raise will be going towards;

• Fairly paying our cast, crew and score composers. 
• Food and transport for cast and crew. 
• Props, sets and costumes to truly bring this world to life!
• To top it all off, once the film is done we need to be able to pay to distribute and submit the final film into festivals!
• We have some perks available which means for everything you put towards our film, you can choose what rewards you get back - whether that's a pack of stickers or to be a part of our film forever - it's up to you!

The Impact

Through supporting our film, you're helping us get real-life experience to prepare us for the future of working in the film industry. This is the first big project we're doing which enables us to have full creative control and it allows us to see the full idea creation, screenplay writing, production design and financing. Your contributions in allowing this film to happen also help us improve skills we've already got such as working on sound, cinematography, producing, directing and most importantly editing!

The funding will get from this will also give us an opportunity to look back at this project later down the line and feel proud that this is what we managed to achieve as University students. The project not only improves the experience of our crew - this cannot be done without actors and our composers, who are also gaining the knowledge and experience to improve their future careers. 

This funding campaign isn't just about raising money or helping us gain experience. It's a chance to get different and new stories out into the entertainment industry and encourage the creative processes that are involved in filmmaking, especially when we're only just getting started!

Risks & Challenges

As mentioned previously, this is the first time we've had full creative control over the process of making the film from scratch! But that does not mean this project will not turn out well. We're passionate, dedicated and very excited to get going, all that we need is the funding to truly get the wheels going!

• Despite the lack of professional industry experience, we truly believe that no challenge will be too great for us to tackle - and any problems on the days of shooting we will easily find our way around. These quick problem-solving skills have helped us until now, but we are confident that thanks to our well thought through schedules, the whole filming process will go smoothly. 
• Time is always a challenge in film, but particularly when it comes to this one! We only have until May to complete the entire film, from casting all the way to the final edited piece. The initial shoot is planned to only take about 4-5 days on location, and we have a strict schedule that we need to stick to to ensure everything is completed on time and can be to the best standard.
