UPDATE #4 - WE DID IT! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the Wizard Mode campaign! Together we were
able to raise $43,615 on Indiegogo, and including the matched funding
from Blue Ice Docs, we reached a total of $47,230! Wow, we can't begin
to tell you how grateful we are for your generous contributions to the
film! Your support will help us fund the
post-production costs needed to finish the film in the coming months. A big thank you again to Vimeo, Indiegogo, Blue Ice Docs &
the over 400 people like you who have made Wizard Mode happen. We
couldn't have done it without you!
We will begin mailing out your perks this week – if you don't receive yours by the end of November 2015, please email us at wizardmodefilm@gmail.com.
Now that the campaign is over, stay up to date with the film:
UPDATE #3 - BIG NEWS! Because of your amazing support for #WizardMode, a Canadian distributor, Blue Ice Docs, heard about our project and has come on board to distribute the film! That means that you will be able to see Wizard Mode in theatres in Canada. Not only that, but we are going to extend the Indiegogo campaign one week because Blue Ice Docs agreed to match all funds we raise in the next week! Every contribution you give from now until October 23rd will be doubled by our distributor, up to $20,000! We can do extra filming for Wizard Mode,
including creating a custom rig to shoot inside pinball machines, and animation and visual
effects. From day one we wanted to make the best looking pinball movie ever and with your help we can do it!
UPDATE #2: With your help we reached our first
milestone of 300 contributors and were able to receive match funding
from Vimeo, helping us meet our first goal of $40,000!
UPDATE #1 - Vimeo has come on board as an official partner with Wizard Mode and has offered to match your contributions dollar for dollar! If we can get to 300 contributors on Indiegogo, your contributions doubled. That means that if you donate $25, we
get $50 to put towards the completion of the film. Make a contribution
today and double your impact!
Meet Robert Gagno, one of the best pinball players in the world who happens to have autism. Robert is the subject
of our feature length film, WIZARD MODE.
Programmed deep within pinball machines lies a hidden level that is
only unlocked when a player completes a series of lightning-speed
challenges. There is
no bigger reward in the game of pinball than WIZARD
MODE. Robert Emilio Gagno has dedicated most of his young life to
mastering WIZARD MODE. In professional pinball the initials
R.E.G.
strike fear, admiration and respect - he’s ranked in the top ten out of
thousands of competitive pinball players in the world. But there’s more
to him than just being a pinball wizard. At the age of three, Robert was
diagnosed with autism.
With the support of his parents, Robert
has practiced non-stop, developing an almost otherworldly skill for the
game. Though he has many victories and the support of the pinball
community, he seeks to find his independence as he comes of age. Robert
tries to balance all of his real world responsibilities and still be a
pinball champion, searching to unlock his own WIZARD MODE. If you haven't already, check out our short documentary of the same name released earlier this year:

We are filmmakers Jeff Petry & Nathan Drillot of Salazar Film, a production team based out of Vancouver, BC. We’ve done
plenty of documentary work in the past (get to know our work better
here: www.salazarfilm.com), but this is our first feature documentary, so it really holds a special place in our heart.
We’ve spent almost two years with the Gagno family filming Robert’s journey
with the hopes of one day sharing his incredible story with the world.
That’s why we are now asking for your help to raise the funds to finish
the film and make a fun, rocking pinball movie that shares an important message.

This campaign is important to us because we feel there are so many communities and people we want to share Robert’s story with, and through crowdfunding, we can speak directly to people like you. Plus, you can have a role in the making of the film.
We need the resources for post-production to finish the film, which
includes covering the costs of licensing music, paying our editor, getting a great colourist, and finishing the sound design,
sound mix and the final print to get the film theatre-ready! We’ve found
the difference between a good film and a GREAT film is so often
determined by what happens in the post-production stage. You can help us make WIZARD MODE possible.

We believe this film can have a real social impact, but we can’t do it without you! We hope the film will show a positive and hopeful story of a young person with autism. We think it also has the ability to inspire young adults to pursue a passion and to demonstrate that no condition or perceived “label” should stop you from following the interests that bring you joy. When the film is completed, we will be working with non-profit organizations and various partners to do a screening tour across North America.

We believe Robert’s story can change the way society sees people with autism and bring real empowerment to many.
Now is the time to make this happen with WIZARD MODE. Thank you to the pinball and autism communities for supporting us
along the way to create our first feature film and allowing Robert to
inspire many others to look beyond labels.

We know that contributing funds is not an option for everybody! But if you believe in this film, and want to support in some way, you can:
Help us share Robert’s story and be part of the WIZARD MODE journey. Thank you!
