Short Summary
The Women in Horror Annual (WHA) is an anthology of horror fiction and nonficton written by women. There are plenty of horror anthologies out there, but few which are exclusively authored by female writers.
The WHA is a celebration of female voices in horror, giving talented writers the opportunity to see their work published. We believe there's a demand for female-authored horror that's not being met, and the WHA will help fill that void.
The works have been selected and edited. The next step is publication, and that's where you come in. With your assistance, the WHA will be made available in electronic and hard copy formats. With your assistance, these horror writers will find an audience.
The WHA is a labour of love, a passion project for our writers and editors.
We started small with a humble call for submissions which attracted more attention than we could ever hope for, and now we're dreaming big! We can't wait to share the WHA with horror fans around the world.
What We Need & What You Get
We're asking for $5000 to cover printing and advertising costs. Selling a book can be tough, and the horror market is large.
Our primary goal is to get the WHA into the hands of readers, and to that end we need to market and advertise the book. Ad space in magazines and copies for reviewers cost money, so we're asking for help to pay the bills.
We're offering a number of donation levels, from $5 to $200, each with their own unique perks. We have branded USBs, limited edition prints, copies of the anthology, and other brag-worthy things available for contributors.
Any donation is greatly appreciated, and all monies (whether we reach our goal or not) will be put toward bringing this book to into the world.
Other Ways You Can Help
Want to help us in other ways? We welcome any kind of assistance you can provide. A Facebook post, a tweet, smoke signals, an announcement over the PA system in the subway, whatever you can do to help us reach more readers, we're grateful.
