Short Summary

As a new comedic series, Woof, seeks to entertain the contemporary American audience through the story of a 20 something year old dog walker in New York City. The creators of Woof are avid dog lovers who are looking to partner with local animal shelters to cast dogs for the show who the actors will then introduce in a 45 second tag at the end of each episode. Through this partnership with the local animal shelters, Woof hopes to help the dogs at these shelters to find their forever homes.

What We Need & What You Get

We are asking for $5,000 so that we can buy the highest quality production gear possible (this includes microphones, cameras, booms, etc...), feed our cast, crew, and furry friends while on set, and give our cast and crew a small stipend in return for their hard work. 

If you donate to our cause, you will help save shelter dogs lives through helping us to increase awareness of local shelters. Anything you can and are willing to give will help us immensely, but the more you give, the more we give back to you. (More information in "Perks" section)

The Impact

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' website, US animal shelters acquire roughly 6.5 million animals every year. Every year, an average of 1.5 million animals in shelters are euthanized - compared to the 3.2 million animals that get adopted. While it's great and a huge success that nearly double the animals being euthanized are being adopted, it's not enough. Woof hopes to partner with local animal shelters in New York and use the dogs as cast members and at the end of each episode, we will feature an animal shelter a a dog in need of adoption. The hope is that this will help increase foot traffic at the shelters and, in turn, increase adoption. 

Risks & Challenges

We already have one animal shelter totally on board with this project. Others are very interested in supporting us by word of mouth. Our main goal with this project is to promote these dogs who are in need of forever homes - but we want to do it through a well produced series. The funding from this campaign will help take our project from just a cool idea to a beautiful web series that will change lives forever.
