Short Summary

At the beginning of 2023, we began an amazing journey following the adventures of the Kirin Lotus Cinder. Now that story has come to a close, after traveling 130k of epic fiction and over 80 pieces of original artwork. I hope to get this book printed in hardcover, so this awesome portal fantasy story can have a permanent place on the shelf. Keep Lotus and Gus and Iron Feather with you forever, where no failing image host can steal away the intended viewing experience.

What We Need & What You Get

Like all my campaigns, I'm not printing these books on demand. Printing in color is expensive, and a minimum number of copies has to be made for the endeavor to be possible. I run the entire process myself, typesetting and packing and shipping and all the other parts of the process. With previous books, this has typically involved around a hundred hours of my time from start to finish (not including the literal year I spent writing the story, obviously)

Therefore, we need to make sure there's enough demand to print enough copies to make it financially possible. The goal is to create a hardcover book, approximately 450 pages in length, capturing each of the 80+ illustrations present in the original work.

Along with the story you know, I'd take the opportunity to write a little more in this world to expand on the Epilogue present on Fimfiction.net. There are lots of aspects I would love to explore once the story is complete--Gus's adventures, Lotus's return to Hono, how her parents ended up leaving Earth, etc. As a special thanks for supporting me, the hardcover will include new chapters of the Epilogue that will never be published anywhere else.

In my past campaigns, I've offered a high tier to dictate a specific section to write. This worked okay, but I found it did sometimes require exploring directions that weren't always the most conducive to the best story.

To keep that same spirit, I've chosen the most interesting new chapter to add to the Epilogue. For every 15 copies beyond the minimum this print run is able to create, I'll add an additional chapter, to a maximum of 15k extra words. I think that is about what I would need to cover every little piece I think would be fun to write. I want to enrich the story, not write a sequel.  

Risks & Challenges

Simple terms here: either there's enough demand to get the hardcover printed, or there isn't. The minimum print volume is 50 copies. If we don't hit this number, you'll be refunded by Indiegogo, and the book won't be created.
