Short Summary
I am a proud father of an 8 year old son who loves to play hockey. Even better, I am proud to have him part of a Team that is full of amazing kids and parents who work hard at Coaching, Fundraising, and teaching the kids and each other while having fun. Hockey is an amazing sport and the lessons we all learn from it are all worth the time and money, but it is expensive.
What We Need & What You Get
Any monies we receive will go directly to the Team.
We have three tournies (Chilliwack, Mission and Squamish) as well as our normal ice time to pay for. Squamish for example is a three night tourney. $100 per night a kid times 12 kids =$3600.
We have been fundraising with bottle drives, chocolate sales, raffles etc and have made a small dent ($4000) in the $12000 we need to total this year.
Travel expenses, food, ice time, spare equipment are all huge expenses as well that are incurred above the normal league fees.
We are not a rep Team (H4 doesn't have those) but they are an awesome and talented group of kids who happen to be good at hockey, good at being friends, and awesome at being kids!
Any money raised whether or not we hit our goal will be put into the Team expenses, and if there is excess of what we need, it will be donated to the League or to next years Team!
You will get the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped ease the financial burden of all of the parents on our Team, and make sure that all of the kids are able to be a part of a great experience with Team sports.
The Impact
This is the first time I have tried any sort of fundraising like this.
Last year we were able to raise close to $10000 with the traditional methods of fundraising, but are finding it a little more challenging to repeat this year.
We all want our kids to participate and have a great time. I would like for the parents to be able to enjoy it as well without worrying how they are going to make ends meet.
