Short Summary
Hello again, we at Yes Kirriemuir have been busy just as thousands of others have been right across Scotland, taking the positive reasons to vote Yes in Septembers Referendum to as many as possible. We have held open public meetings in Kirriemuir and villages in the surrounding area, we have organised at great effort a debate between Yes and No for the benefit of 5th and 6th year pupils and the wider public. Our Yes shop now opens to help people get the real facts, and we are currently discussing with younger voters how we can keep the shop open longer during the school holidays. We have events planned for the future, and plan to have stalls at all the local events we can get to during the summer. All of this has been made possible thanks to you and your generous donations, and the many hours given by our volunteers, but we need to finish what we have started. There has been a real change recently with polls continuing to move towards yes, and when out talking to people, the positive response you get is a real buzz, but to get the result we want, we need to keep going, and that's where you come in. We have done all we have achieved on a shoe string budget, we have had donations of computer equipment for the shop, we have had people drive from the other end of the country to donate furniture, I have met people who have donated stake for the shop, its been a wonderful thing to have been part of, but a shop comes with bills, bills which we have had to set aside money to pay, and this is frustrating, as this is money that could be booking village halls, or buying a gazebo for a stall, buying more internet time for the shop, this is all stuff that can be done now, the bills can be paid after the referendum. The idea of this small fundraiser is to free up funds now for campaigning, and use the proceeds from this fundraiser to pay the bills later. We are going to win this Referendum, but we are going to have to work for it, Yes Kirriemuir can do this but we need to do it now. Please give what you can, I am only too aware of all the appeals for your hard earned money that are on the go at the moment, but even if you can only give a pound, it will help us get to our target of £600 and we can finish this thing with the outcome that we have all worked so very hard to reach. Thank you for reading.
