You Were Here is a planned 4-part web series focusing on a trio of friends in the wake of a tragedy. David, a quiet but once hopeful man has lost all faith after his best friend and housemate Oscar dies suddenly; Joss, a carefree childhood companion of David's is on the run from a mistake he made; and Angie, a timid school friend of Oscar's is trying to break free of the shackles of her family. Everyone has struggles. These are theirs. Over 4 episodes we will see these characters evolve and react as they grow up just a little bit more.
The story deals with themes of identity, sexuality and existentialism.
The series was created by Oliver Wilson-Smith, the director and co-writer. He is joined by colleague Georgie Plant as Producer and co-writer. Together they work under the company Lime 58 Films, started in 2016 and focusing on comedic films. This is their first foray into more dramatic territory and is an exciting prospect.
"This is our most ambitious project yet and we would love it if you could contribute to our campaign!
With this project under way we as a company and as professionals can move onto bigger and better things as we build our careers and your contribution can help us on that path immensely."
The money contributed to this campaign will go straight into the budget - e.g.feeding cast and crew, hiring actors, etc. The target will allow us to comfortably cover our basic expenses to allow for a 10 day shoot.
The £2000 target is what we aspire to in order to see the project through as we would like it. However, any little contribution helps. £2000 will ensure that our budget's essentials are covered and that we can proceed without too much concern.
This project may be ambitious but we, the creative team, have produced high-quality content before on far less and we have consistently delivered. This can be seen with our documentary, Lammas, and our comedy, Dan Can Save You.
Our producer has a well considered budget and has previously handled the financing of our projects. The chance of us not delivering the quality content you expect is next to zero.
Our director and series creator has formed this project from personal experiences and the entire team desires this to be a respectful and loyal portrayal of all issues highlighted in the series whilst still being a highly entertaining product for you, the viewer.
We understand that a lot of people can't put forward money - that's OK, we understand it's a big ask. However, if you live around the Hampshire area and can help out by providing locations or services then get in touch as we would love to hear from you!
Other than that, please do share this around and get the word out!
-Oliver Wilson-Smith & Georgie Plant, Lime 58 Films
Oliver Wilson-Smith (Creator, Writer & Director)
Oliver is a young director who has been involved in storytelling all his life. Originally wanting to be an actor, he discovered his love for directing in college when he put together a stage performance of the Gregory Burke play Black Watch. He has since gone on to study Film Production at Winchester and directed the comedies Dan Can Save You and Please Wash Your Hands (both 2017) as well as the eco-documentary Lammas (2016).
This project is his most ambitious yet but with the team surrounding him, and your goodwill he is excited as ever.
Georgie Plant (Producer & Co-Writer)
Every project needs a good producer and Georgie Plant is one of the best. As the other half of Lime 58 Films (along with Oliver Wilson-Smith), Georgie has written and been involved in the production of every film the duo have released. Never seen on set without her trusty clipboard/folder combo, she is the logistic rock any creative needs.
She brings to the project both a sense of grounding as a producer as well as a slice of raw humanity in the script.
Jade Stratton (Assistant Director & Script Supervisor)
New to the Lime 58 family is Jade Stratton, the Assistant Director for the series. Precise and with an eye for detail, Jade is a wonderful addition to the team - able to take meticulous notes and ensure everything runs smoothly and providing counsel for both the creative and administrative side of filmmaking.
Tom Crawley (Director of Photography)
An excellent photographer with a keen eye, Tom has previously worked with Lime 58 on their comedy Dan Can Save You, serving as DP and Editor. Sharing a common visual goal with the creative team and bringing a boundless enthusiasm for the craft, Tom is an exceelent and worthy addition to the team.
