Who I Am
Hi, my name is Asif (Aw-Sif) Baig and I am the writer and director of Your Loss. The film follows Chelsea, Thomas and Henry as they are reeling from the death of their friend and remember the legacy he left behind. Each of these characters slightly represent individuals I once knew in my life. Though I have moved on, trauma is something that lingers, and words can stain a lifetime of self doubt.
I wanted to tell a story about people that managed to escape the web of hurt one person can cause and how death can ultimately be the greatest closer. It sounds harsh, but don’t say it wouldn't feel a little good if the biggest bully you once knew ended up kicking rocks. I hope this story resonates with people in a way that can bring out a little laughter, gratification and ultimately, healing. After all, it’s not about what happened to you, it’s about what you became from it.
What We Need
For the production, we are seeking $10,000 in funds. In order for this project to come into fruition - people need to get paid. I take a lot of pride in the fact that this production is heavily diverse and a majority of the people working on this film identify in several different identities and backgrounds. This project is not just to make my project come into fruition, but also give people the opportunity to work on something towards their own goals in their careers. The funding will be going to the hardworking cast and crew that is taking time out of their lives to fulfill my little dream, come true. Listed below, is what the funding will go towards:
