This campaign represents the newest iteration in development in the Transportation as a Service (TaaS) model. An innovative approach to elevated personal rapid transit (EPRT) that will enable cost-effective, convenient, and environmentally responsible transportation.

The Personal Transportation (PT) Solution is a state-of-the-art transit system that leverages proven technology and a commercial business model to offer communities and commuters a true TaaS experience.

This crowdfunding campaign will raise capital to build and test key components of the ‘first mile’ of a fully operational system: the drivetrain and ribbon rail. As development continues contributors will have a front row seat to see how The PT Solution can deliver on-demand, point-to-point, automated, networked, and elevated transportation.

Completing the ‘first-mile’ will qualify The PT Solution to be included as a viable option in current and future Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) studies.

The principal, Cal Chamberlain, has had a career that spans the defense, space, manufacturing and consulting industries from value engineer, VP R&D to CEO.

After many years of commuting and watching traffic congestion continue to increase, despite bigger and bigger highways, Cal knew there “must be a better way.” The economic and environmental impact of automobile-based transportation were just not sustainable.

Following years of research and design, this funding phase will enable us to demonstrate both the technology and the business model.  

The PT Solution is committed to building a long-term partnership with our investors and supporters to build this new PRT system. Our goal is to raise $50,000. Donors will each receive a 100-mile credit to their PT Solution Travel Account for each $100 dollar commitment.

The $50,000 raised will be used as follows:

• Design the test components: drive train, cockpit and rail - $15,000
• Design, test and fabricate the test articles: drive train, ribbon rail and associated testing expenses - $25,000
• Commission an Addendum to Automated Transit Network (ATN) Feasibility Study for Clemson, Greenville and Mauldin by PRT Consulting - $10,000

The PT Solution will recognize all Phase I supporters as Charter Members with four (4) levels of support:

• Bronze Level: $100 to $499 - 1 mile credit per $1
• Silver Level: $500 to $999 - 2 miles per $1
• Gold: $1,000 to $2,499 - 3 miles per $1
• Platinum: $2,500 + - 4 miles per $1

For all supporters who reach Platinum status, The PT Solution will recognize their commitment by naming a PT cockpit for them. The most generous supporter will be invited to speak at the inaugural ceremony.
