Who are Zak's team?

We are happy, hungry eaters who want to change things

We want to change the choice we have of snacks to eat - to move from the deep-fried, carb-heavy snacks developed in the 1960s to more healthy, plant-based food.

We want to change how snacks are processed - we want our food to LOOK LIKE what it is, not turned into pastes and reformed into bars and chewy snacks.

We want to change the industry - snack companies are huge, safe and work as corporations do today - questionable social practices like paying suppliers low prices, or operating complicated tax avoidance schemes. We will never do that - we are part of society and want to give, not take.

And we want to change the world - 10% of every contribution goes to our microfinancing fund with Kiva to help kickstart environmental projects around the world. As entrepreneurs, we help other entrepreneurs. You can see our fund here.

What is Zak's about?

We are creating a brand where the products are made using the best ingredients and we work hard to avoid products which are harmful to the environment. We focus on plant-based nutrition to provide a combination of non-animal protein and impactful taste - using pulses, beans and nuts. Our products are packaged to fit easily in bags and backpacks and eaten with one hand, for easy on-the-go consumption.

We run our business with fairness at the top of our minds. We will never run complex schemes to avoid paying tax. And we run a microfinancing fund to support entrepreneurs starting food businesses in areas of the world where financing is hard to obtain. (More on that fund later in Perks.) 

Tell me about Zak's Snacks

We are creating minimally processed mixes of grains, beans, nuts and seeds that are naturally high in protein. Flavoured to provide memorable and impactful flavors using natural ingredients, and packed in convenient shot-bag packaging, Zak's Snacks are designed to bridge the gaps between meals when you need a boost without relying on high sugar or highly processed alternatives.

So if you want a change from the heavy & pasty protein bars, Zak's will provide the protein, taste and energy you need.

What We Need & What You Get

In order to take on the giants of the industry, we need some additional funds to get started. We have some funds already ourselves (about 25% of our requirements) but we need more if we are going to make this work.

We need backers for Zak's - We need Zackers!

We need your support to allow us to

• Design and print the packaging
• Buy the ingredients and packaging
• Pay the people who are making the snacks
• Create new jobs for sales teams

We are not going to use your money to

• Pay ourselves
• Pay influencers or expensive marketing campaigns
• Pay large retailers to stock our products

If we truly want to change the way this industry works and produce real food for today's customers, we need to find a way to compete with a tiny fraction of their funds. Which means we need to spend EVERY PENNY WISELY.

Involvement and change. It's clear that we need your financial backing to reach our goals but we want Zackers to be excited and follow us as we grow, and to be a creative resource for us as we develop products.

We are trying to change the business model of an industry and trying to compete with the deep pockets of global multinationals.

It's all a risk. And it's all a challenge.
