All About Zed
My name is Meighan Goodbody. I'm from Ottawa, Canada, born and raised. I have 5 sisters, and a huge loving extended family. I am a young entrepreneaur with extensive restaurant experience, and I am hoping to, with your help, open my own Canadiana themed community supporting Café for tourists, residents and office workers who are currently without many options.
My campaign is to raise money to bridge the investment gap for my business, ZED Cafe. The idea behind ZED Cafe is to bring quality local goods from the region to the neighbourhood, highlighting the best Ottawa has to offer in terms of bread, pastries, ice cream, salads and light meals. By putting local goods in the spotlight, we will build each others business., More importantly, I can quit my underpaid cafeteria job and dream the dream.
With the help of this campaign, I hope to close a $10,000 investment gap to ensure my start-up plan is completed on time, the business will be up to code, and employees and suppliers will be paid on time.
I am having some difficulties with finding a location within my original budget. One excellent location, which I have applied and hope to be approved for, has an expected problem with licencing compliance, and I will need to build another bathroom. In addition, I am concerned about cash flow in the first month, as a line of credit has still not been secured.

The Impact
This campaign is to raise money for a project that will help bring together local businesses and the consumers who may have not had a chance to discover them without our help! The National Capital Region has so much to offer, and we'd like to showcase those who are doing good work and give back to our community!
- Zed Cafe will showcase local businesses, helping to raise awareness of all the good work they do!
- Our neighbourhood is saturated with big box chain food and beverage suppliers -Tim Hortons, Starbucks, etc - While there's nothing wrong with them, it's nice to be able to give people a fresh alternative that they can feel proud about, knowing it was made with love in our Region.
