As many of you are wondering, we do not have the drone shell manufactured yet because we are still looking into what materials we want to use in order to maximize efficiency of the drone at the lowest cost possible. We are using default drone shells to do tests with just drone’s pcb board. We are planning on making the shells in China. There are two options that we can use to create the shells, injection moulding or 3D-Printing. If we decide  to use 3D-printing we will have to see how fast these drone shells can be made so they can be delivered to the customer on time. The other option of using Injection Moulding will have a much faster manufacture time although will have higher costs and lower amounts of customizability. However we are looking out for our customer’s best interest so we will update you as soon as we have some news on this.

Currently we are using a standard 2.4GHz remote to control the drone. Although we have cut the antenna to the same length as the final remote, as well as other slight modifications to match the specifications of the final product. The manufacturer has agreed to make the final remote once we confirm the order. It will be made to the exact same specifications as to what we are testing the drone and statistics we have published.

We chose to do flexible funding because we want to ensure that no matter what, we do receive support for our project. However, if we do fall short of the set goal, we will most definitely still be pursuing the project and developing this product. We do have contingency plans in place, to ensure the completion of Zekko. That being said, we will certainly be trying to meet out aspired goal. Furthermore, though funding is an important part of this entire process, we are aiming to see the public's reaction to our product, we want your opinions. We want to see what the community wants in a nano drone. We want to find solutions to the flaws of current products on the market, to create the ultimate nano drone. With Indiegogo we hope to receive YOUR input and subsequently create the best drone possible!

In response to the many inquiries we have received, no we do not yet have the drone shell manufactured, because we are still looking into what materials that would maximize efficiency for the drone at the lowest possible cost. We are using default drone shells to do tests with our custom drone pcb board. We are planning on having the product produced in China. There are two options to choose from in terms of the creation of the shells, injection moulding or 3D-printing. If we do decide  to use 3D-printing, we will have to see how fast these drone shells can be made, to ensure delivery to our customers in a timely fashion.  The other option would be to use injection moulding which would ensure quick manufacturing of our product, however it would increase costs as well as limit our customization capabilities. However we are looking out for our customer’s best interest, so we will update you as soon as we have any updates on our method of production.

Our team consists of three friends, the core members of this project and all of which are quad-rotor hobbyist! Our head developer is a mechanical engineer who has a passion for designing drones! Our other two members of the team are marketing wizards fresh out of university. Our team was put together when we all decided we wanted our other friends to share our love for drones!
